It's just Capital Punishment with alot of rocks. They've been executing people that way for thousands of years. After all, it's the Jews who started it all since the Old Testament shows stoning to be the primary method of execution for crimes like "disobeying thy mother and thy father" and such things. |

and because it has been done "forever" does that make it ok? Don't we know better than that yet? |

It is not death by stoning that bothers me near as much as capital punishment for adultery. And, of course, if this had been a married man there would have been no punishment.Og |

If I was the judge I would award the title to Miss France for actually taking action and being willing to sacrifice for her beliefs. |

Hmm USA has state executions as well, does the method make it anymore right? All state murders should be stopped whether by stones, lethal injection, gassing or electrocution, they are all barbaric crimes. |

interesting comments peeps... first I do not believe in the death penalty for any reason, none the less for some infraction that was not in the rhelm of an "eye for an eye"... second in this day and age, there is still a HUGE double standard, notice the man that impregnated her is not in any danger of death for his action out of wedlock... Seems wrong to take a persons LIFE for an indescrition decided by the NEW law adoped in that country in 1999. |
