Ok my cousin Vanessa works at T.J. Maxx...well yesterday while she was at work a man called the store and she answered the phone. he told her that it was a bomb threat and that there was only 10 seconds until there would be an explosion. My cousin called the manager up to the front desk and told her what had happened...and the response from the manager was "So what, 10 seconds have already gone by. Nothing has happened so dont worry about it." My cousin was scared and wanted to call the police but the manager wouldnt let her. so one of the other girls that worked there got a hold of one of the other managers and told him what had happened and he called the police. the police came and took a report. My cousin was mad that her manager responded the way she did...I was even surprised. Even though it was a joke...it should have been taken seriously cause there were customers and at least 7 other workers in the store...it would only be right to evacuate just incase it wasnt a joke. what do u guys think?

If they called the police they could have tracked the call and the man would have been arrested(i know this because i know people who called bomb threats on my high school we had about 10 in a 6 month period)
Date: 9/7/2002 6:57:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    I agree 10 seconds is a small amount of time...but hey one never knows right? I think what gets to me is that the manager didnt care enough to take it seriously...no matter what amount of time was said. A threat is a threat and shoudnt be taken lightly. thanks for the comment.
Date: 9/7/2002 7:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 58022    That's crazy what that first manager said. Even if something MIGHT be a joke, when it's something like that you should always treat it like it's not.

Date: 9/7/2002 7:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 56287    well whoever made the joke has a very sick sense of humour and that manager should be sacked because no way should he/she put other peoples lives in danger!

Date: 9/7/2002 8:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    I woulda said screw the manager and called the police on my own.....forget the thought of losing the job because you 'disobeyed' one of the managers. joke or no joke something like that needs to be reported so the person can be charged for making threats etc....besides no future employer would hold that kind of firing against anyone
Date: 9/7/2002 8:17:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    I agree with you Becky...I dont know why my cousin didnt bother calling...I think cause the manager is a real you know what and my cousin was a lil scared.
Date: 9/7/2002 8:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    no it shouldn't be but a real threat they usually give you enough time to clear the store
Date: 9/8/2002 12:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 26452    I agree with Becky.
Date: 9/8/2002 2:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15997    I understand what you're saying Midnightly...thanks for the comment Moon.
