I think the reason that you got more replies to you 'I got my tag' post is that people here are usually nice and happy to see a person get their tag. That type of post is one that ALL can reply to, stories in other categories only appeal to certain groups of people.  |

Unfortunately it seems to work that way here at USM. Frivolous posts get loads and serious seem to get next to none, but quite often the serious ones get well thought out answers while the others get less so  |

I know what you mean, Ive been on the site for 4 years now...I dont have many comments in general tho I have quite a few diverse posts. But I know for myself I dont always reply to things I read just because I can't think of anything to say. When everyone else has said the generic 'good post' you want to say something better then that or nothing at all. Ahh well at least it gets read.  |

Some of my posts that have gotten the most comments have been ones that I slammed out without much thought. Some with the fewest comments are stories that I worked of for pretty long periods of time. LOL You just need to make sure that you are enjoying what you're writing.  |

Ya sometimes post are that way, it also depends on the time of the day that you post stories as well, ..and people get all excited to view a new tag..well i hope that this post gets more comments than your tag did..good luck...what also can help too is..comment on what people say to your post..it helps alot  |

Everyone is right, we all get excited about tag designs, but not every topic appeals to every USMer. Sometimes I read a post and don't have the words to reply, no matter how much I would like to.  |

Well so far I have 20 replies. That's not enough to beat my best one (30 replies) so I hope that we can keep it up!!!! I agree that friviluous(sp?) posts get more replies because they are easier for people to respond to. And true, not every story interests everyone, so might as well make them easy I suppose, right?
