Make a code number of rings that the home owners will ring, hang up then ring again so you know that it is them. Make a time that you will be picked up by, inform your parents of this and stick to it if possible. If you are going to be late inform your parents. Do not put yourself in a situation where you are in the house and no-one knowing you are OK. If you feel threatened at all then ring your parents and let them know what is happening.
Date: 9/4/2002 1:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 61811    well, have a sceduled time of when they will pick her up, if u cant, ask about when. then, like if there is someone else picking them up, make sure they show that person's picture just to make sure like it isnt like a fake. jackei
Date: 9/4/2002 2:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 53478    Here's what I always did. On your first time babysitting get to know what the girl likes. Maybe bring some things that you know your sister likes. Never answer the door unless her parents tell you they're expecting someone to drop by. If they have an answering machine screen the calls. Bring kids movies and fun books. Bring a board game. ALWAYS get the number the parents can be reached at and keep it next to the phone. Also make sure your parents can be reached in case you have a minor question and don't want to bother the girls parents. MOST IMPORTANT: Have fun!!

Date: 9/4/2002 3:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 61782    lol, first, calm down!! If someone is at the door, just look through the peep hole and ask who it is. If you don't know them, then say that you are unable to open the door right now or something like that. Order a pizza for dinner or find some food in the fridge. Good luck---Evilgeminitwin23
Date: 9/4/2002 4:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 53806    RELAX......do just like you do with your sister this girl is no different than your sister....if you make your sister happy when you babysit her you should have no problem with this girl good luck.....this girl will love you.....so don't doubt yourself
Date: 9/4/2002 6:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 60863    Calm down babysitting isn't that hard. I've been doing it for years. Right now where i'm babysitting at The girl is 4 her mom leaves left overs from the night before in the frige for me to warm up for the girl. I always answer the phone, i know i shouldn't but i look at it like this it may be a reletive of the family that doesn't know the code and she may becalling to say that there is in emergency example someone dies and they don't know the number to get ahold of the parents. Answering the door is more of a trick. I keep the doors shut and locked because we are in the country where like the nearest neighbor is a few miles away. You might want to eat before you go to babysit, some people don't want you eating there food.-nikkiey
