Because people like to think and dream and wish for THAT kind of romance...where while htere is turmoil and hardships, the end turns out wonderfully...except of course in A Walk to Remember Jamie supposedly dies of cancer...but OMG I LOVE THAT MOVIE, it is my second favorite, next only to Pearl Harbor which has a beautiful kissing scene. It's just...nice...to some people. People have different tastes, lol. I'm a sucker for romance stories and movies. Good post!  |

Hmm okay that clears it up. Yeah, I loved Pearl Harbor too, but probably for different reasons than you lol. I actually haven't seen A Walk to Remember, but everyone is always telling me about it so I have a pretty clear view of how it goes. Thanks for replying. I saw my mom's obsession in a different view now.

Well, my reason is because on movies it's just so sweet how people can be, and I guess I watch those cause most people now aren't that sweet lol. I love to watch movies that make ya cry. I don't know why but for some reason they are my favorites.  |

it might be a female thing.. these movies are often called "chick flicks" for that reason.. they tug at the heart strings females are more emotional then men.. men feel and have been raised in a rough and tumble action where a female is raised with playing with dolls and stories where people fall inlove. Love stories are often tear jerkers and it gives you a dream of what love is when your are without love  |

Actually, for me, romances never bring tears. The movies I have cried the most through were Gladiator, The Man in the Iron Mask, and Dead Poets Society, which is a drama.
