Putting a Leash-alike on children is considered child abuse?? I have always wondered about that? At times I wish I would put leash on my son but I always wondered if I put one on my son and people would consider it as very cruel or something, for me yes and no... yes because children should never be treated as animals, and NO because of their safety... tell me your opinons. ~Pantherlover~

Date: 8/29/2002 8:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 225    Yeah id rather have my child on a leash than have him wondering off some wheres and getting lost or kiddnapped in my opinoin people can kma if they dont like it ,
Date: 8/29/2002 8:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 59286    It is not considered child abuse. Do what you feel is the safest for your children. Regina
Date: 8/29/2002 8:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 16069    I dont have a problem with leashes. They are pretty much the same as a stroller or a shopping cart. If you have more than one kid, it can be very hard to keep your eye on them constantly. If its not harming the kid, its not abuse. I dont use one, but Im not against them either. Its up to the parents.
Date: 8/29/2002 10:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    I feel that the leech thing is alright... Also long as they dont pull hard on them like some people do on dogs. It would help the parent or whomever keep an eye on the child. But then again, they shouldn't bring the child to stores or whatever if he/she runs around or whatever...know what I'm saying... This post reminds me of the time when a little girl had died at my work and the parents didn't keep an eye on her....very sad.
Date: 8/30/2002 2:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 49742    I don't see anything wrong with a leash as long as it's not around the neck or leg and parents use it safely. Face it the majority of children want to wonder off with the closest of supervision. A leash is safer than an abduction.
Date: 8/30/2002 5:50:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    I dont think it's necessarily child abuse, but I think they look terrible, I guess because I associate leashes with dogs..I think it would be better to strap a kid in a stroller if they are uncontrollable.
Date: 1/18/2004 6:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 12133    I think leashes on kids is disgusting.
