Three couriers go to a hotel, and tell the atendant they want rooms for ten dollars a piece. The attendant says ok, rings them up, and shows the men to thier rooms. (that is three rooms at ten dollars a piece 30 dollars)

Ten minutes later her supervisor shows, and asks how things are going. She informs him of the three rooms she had just rented. He in turn asks, "Did you give them a group discount?" She says no, and is then instructed to ring them back out at the discount price and take them thier change.

The attendant does as asked, but on her way to the rooms, realizes, that the Five dollars they are to be refunded can't be split evenly between three men. She opts to keep two dollars for herself, and give each man, one dollar in return. (She pockets two dollars and gives each man one dollar)

NOW, How much did each man pay for each room after thier discount? (9 dollars)

What is Nine multiplied by three? Three rooms, times nine dollars, is the total amount paid in rooms. (27)

Now, add the two dollars the attendant pocketed and kept for herself. 27, plus 2? (29)

So, what happened to the other dollar???
