Ideas for my new kitty cat! ~Lucy Ricardo~

Well everyone, in a few days, I will probably be getting myself a new kitty cat! I want to take real good care of it, so I have some questions. I have three of them, so maybe you will be able to help me with one of them!

Okay, number one, which cats are better to own? Boys are girls? Or does it not matter? I am really wanting a female cat though.

Number two, is there any certain way I can 'kitty proof' my room? I'm going to clean real good, so that there is nothing that it will choke on, and I'm going to put up a border that that it wont go under my bed. Any other suggestions?

Number three, I need a name! Of course, I am wanting something Lucy related, but something more original then just Lucy or Lucille. I was thinking about the name 'LucyBall' (one of Lucy's old nicknames) or Desireé (Lucy's middle name). Got any other suggestions?

Love, Lucy Ricardo

Males will most likely spray, so I'd get them neutered if I were you. I personally prefer female cats, but that's just me. #2: Well, the cat will find a way under your bed no matter what. I've tried everything. LOL! Desiree is a pretty name. I like it I can't think of any others I like right now, though. Whenever someone asks my opinion of cat names, my mind always goes blank. LMAO! *Jewel Fernandez*

And it sounds like you're already gonna do all ya need to kitty proof the room, hehe. And I really like the name LucyBall for a kitty!!! Sounds so cute! I hope ya like your new kitty! Best of luck,

Date: 8/28/2002 9:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 26452    The favorite sex of the cat differes, but I have 4 cats, and IMO the boys are they best, they seem to be less grouchy (OMG my female cat it such a WITCH) Keeping it really clean and making sure theres nothing it can choke on sounds fine, and make sure you don't have any poisonus plants around. I know this is more than what you asked, but you said you wanted to take really good care of it, so I wanted to add this, be careful of whats in the cat food, most are made with really nasty stuff! Like meat by-products (which is left over ANYTHING, tounge, eye, intestine etc) anything that has the word "by-product" in it. We have 4 cats, and 5 dogs and "Innova" brand cat and dog food is IMO the best kind, its very healthy and it doesn't have any of that crap in it.

Watch out for ones where the first ingreedient is something like corn, or grains. Or "Grain fragmenting" IE rice, rice flour, corn that makes the grains heavier than the meat even though the meat is the first ingreedient. And they should be perserved with natural preservites, and nothing like "BHA or BHT". I hope I didn't go overboard with the food thing though lol I just though you should know about that And I think Desiree is very pretty.

Date: 8/29/2002 5:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 35720    Number one, both would be cute.. I'd go with a boy, but that's just personal preference. Number two, there's nothing else you can really do except clean. Number three, I'm thinking more along the lines of Rika, but hey suit yourself! :P JK.. I like both of the suggestions you said. I'd probably go with Desiree because that's just pretty. hehe
