Oh, please fix your grammar. If you are going to be a trouble maker- at least run a spell check and don't use all caps. I happen to believe in evolution, so much of what you say makes sense to me- however, a point that should be brought up, is that I find it quite likely that homo sapiens sapiens will cause themselves to go extinct before there is any plaintly noticable evolutionary change. |

Are you an atheist? If so, I hate it when people put up posts saying "EXPLAIN THIS CHRISTIANS" etc. It is no wonder I get slated for being an atheist when posts like this go up |

The bible, which has been interpretted and translated many times, says man was made in the image of God. What is God's image, can anyone say for sure. We also don't know how long ago creation occurred. Maybe we were made to evolve into our present form. Who can say for sure? Good post, it gave me something to think about. |

He's not an Athiest, atheists would know nothing says Man came from Monkeys. We share a common ancestor, that's all. |

Evolution does not work that fast. I don't know where you got this junk from. Man and modern apes diverged from a common ancestor several million years ago. Og |

AM, let me just say it strongly disagrees with standard teachings on evolution. That is that man, gorilla, orangutang and chimpanzees all diverged from a common ancestor. If I remember correctly, man and chimp diverged approximately 3 million years ago. Of course all evolutionary theories contrast with interpretations of Genesis as literal history. Og |

Also I do not see how someone can predict the dissappearance of the pinky toe in a mere 5000 years. The appearance of five appendages on the feet and hands is a genetic trait going back tens of millions of years. Man has been bi-pedal for the last few million of those years. I do not see natural selection accomplishing this: i.e. humans suddenly decide 4 toed humans make better mates.Og |

So its on television and this makes it true? LOL Scientist have also said they found the remains of eve in africa and then again in another country. Until scientist can PROVE without a shadow of a doubt anything they say, I dont listen to them. Scientist use to say the tomatoe was posin and not to eat it. So please explain how YOUR able to eat them or catsup? |

My first question is what is your source of this information? My second comment is that we did not come FROM monkeys but we are more akin to being their ancestral cousins therefore we SHARE a common ancestor with monkeys. My final comment is that although I agree that you said humans are evolving all the time. But the bit you say that in the future we won't have wisdom teeth or pinky toes, I feel that that statement is very Lamarkian. Lamark theorised that if we didn't need something such as our appendix then we would evolve without it. That is not the way evolution occurs certainly in respect to Darwinian theory. These things such as wisdom teeth or pinky toes are NOT life threatening therefore we cannot evolve without it. It's only when something IS life threatening that nature selects those that have survived. The best way to explain this is the giraffe. They have long necks. Those giraffes with shorter necks were unable to reach as high for food as those with longer necks and consequently they died out through lack of food. Those with longer necks bred with each other and the gene for longer necks was passed down. |

Author, you need to recheck your facts - Time magazine, Scientific American, and several academic magazines that are perused in my local college library do say that molecular biology suggests all humans came from a common female ancestor, but there is nothing noting simularity to monkey DNA. In fact there is a distinct lack of evidence at the molecular biological level that monkeys and apes are related to man. According to the May 26,1995 issue of Science, a study was conducted on a part of the male sex chromosome in 38 men worldwide. A "surprising lack of genetic variation was discovered", leading to the conclusion that modern man could indeed have come from a common ancestor. Biochemists Vincent Sarich and Allan Wilson attempted to chart the migration patterns of people worldwide by studying certain mitochondria found within the cell body but not in the nucleus, which are only passed on from the female to the offspring. 600 Samples were taken from women across the world - Eskimoes to Australian aboriginies to Maori tribeswomen to female members of the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta ---- They concluded that ALL 600 SAMPLES WERE FROM THE SAME WOMAN! ---- I would humbly suggest that you pick up the book Darwin's Black Box, by Michael Behe. Behe is a molecular biologist who'se work has been cited in the NY Times, Time magazine, U.S. News and World Report, all the major networks, and numerous scientific journals as a skeptic of Darwinism who is to be respected for his work. You might find the book interesting. Peace, Tom |

I believe the part of the monkey is a hoax. It is very easy to hoax it. If the DNA is alike like these scientist say, then why can't we cross bread with monkeys. If a man can get a monkey pregnant or if a monkey can get a woman pregnant, then and only then will I believe in evolution, until then, evolution is nothing more than a myth. |

I loved reading your reply 51173: very interesting. I wonder if that's where the expression Mitochondrial Eve comes from. Of course, this stops as soon as women have sons. My mitochondria stops with my sons. And my mothers went as far as it could with me and stopped at my brothers. Still, both her sisters have daughters... Anyway, very interesting points. 36967, I don't feel the monkey part is a hoax. If you look at the points 51173 has made, the same is true for horses and zebras. They can't breed even thought they look so similar. It may be that because of migration in animals has caused this. Each animal has been separated for so long, it's evolved it's own way that to try to breed them has made it impossible. |

I never said I didn't agree with your post- I somply asked that you run a spell-check and refrain from using all caps. Read my full response, alright? And I called you a trouble maker because you singled out Christians with a post argueing against something they believe in with a rather cocky attitude. |
