Thinking that he would bother Josalind after she just helped him, Simon settled for waiting a few days before he asked her to find Carina for him. He needed some time to himself before he went back into the spotlight of the faerie queen, although he missed Brooke. The morning routine of the next few days were the same, fishing at the river for dinner, berry picking for breakfast or snack, and Simon's hobby, hunting is during the afternoon until evening when he would go home for dinner. Simon went to bed at 9pm to rest up for the day after. This routine started to wear thin some days but he thought that if he didn't do it, he would starve. The market in town was still off limits for Simon. The anxiety of the whispers he could not handle. Everything started to go wrong ever since that day by the river. Thinking back to that day, Simon blames himself for telling Carina to go before him. She could avoided that snake if Simon had told her to wait for him. If only he had told Graham to go home after she gave her the medicine.... If only he didn't lose her in the woods..... if only...... The guilt got Simon's determination of finding Carina fired up. He would go find Josalind in the morning.
The next morning was a bleak day, full of clouds and little dizzles of rain. Simon dressed warmly and carried a pack of food for the trip. Not long did it take for him to get to the river. "She said 'up the river'" Simon reminded himself. Walking up the river, he saw as memories swirled before his eyes. "There's the place where I first saw Carina" he thought as he saw an old familiar broken down bridge. "....and there's the place where we used to pick wild blueberries, she loved those". Simon thought up places and things Carina loved and promised himself that he would do his best to take her to the places and bring her the things that she loved, "...if only that I find her...." he finished. Not far up the river from where he was hiking, a little cabin sat waiting for Simon and a little note was taped to the door.
