Fairy Tale- Ch. 16- Wedding Day

As the days passed, he tried to look for Carina around the palace, but not once did he see her. He mostly saw a red haired girl followed by a load of servants. "This must be the princess" Simon said. Saturday, the day before the big wedding, Simon still had no idea how he was going to 'rescue' her.

Sunday, the streets were packed because of all the townspeople wanting to see the new Queen. The carridge carrying Carina was in the middle of the line. At the front were men carrying large trumpets to announce the arrival. The King's carridge was next followed by soldiers. Carina's carridge was afterwards. Simon ran passed the soldiers guarding the people and rushed towards Carina. He threw open the carridge door and told the girl inside to run. The girl was wearing a white veil across her face. Hearing somebody come in, she sat still and didn't move. Frantic, Simon ripped up the veil and inside was a girl with red hair. Memories of the red haired girl in the garden flooded into his head. The girl looked frightened at Simon and cried for help. Guards and soldiers grabbed Simon harshly and dragged him away.

Simon was put into a prison cell and interrogated by guards. He tried to tell the guards about Carina but they scoffed at his story. The King himself interrogated Simon too. But like everybody else, his story was laughed at. "You will be executed for assaulting the Queen at dawn tomorrow!" The King growled. Being thrown back into the cell, Simon looked out the barred window and wondered where Carina was.
