The Queen greeted the two at the edge of the faerie part of the forest. "Ah, welcome back!" Dawn cheerfully said. Simon looked around for Brooke but she was nowhere in sight. "You didn't have to come greet me here, your majesty" Simon humbly answered. "Oh come now, don't be so tense. You can call me Dawn, remember?" The Queen told Simon. Simon smiled and Dawn took him off to a quiet place beside the river edge. It was not far from where they met. "Of course, we should get down to the more important matter." Dawn suggested. Simon felt a bit tense around the Queen of Faeries without a friend (like Brooke) around, he did't know how to act of what to say, in fear of sounding hostile. Simon nodded then realized how much he must have looked like a fool. "Well, I have word of this girl. I've found that she will be well known to all soon if we don't hurry to her." Dawn said. Puzzled, Simon asked why. "In two weeks of your time, she will be wed to The King of Elves." The Queen said discretly. Simon's world shattered at the sound of the word wedding. Drinking up the dew a sevant had brought her, she continued "Their wedding can be stopped if you get there as soon as possible. I can arrange a horse for you to get there.". All this time, Simon sat silently listening hard. He was determined to save his fair lady.
Simon thanked Dawn heartily and waited as a black stallion was brought to him. The Queen fitted him with suitable clothes, as his was worn down, and food with a flask for water. Dawn told him where to go and waved him out of the faerie woods. Simon could have sworn that he saw a slight grin at the corner of the Queen's lips when he left but he was too far off to see.
