well i dont look down on anyone who goes to a different site..I WOULD look down on them though if they are involved on usm alot..and they go to that site BASHING it...THEN i would look down...yes you can go to any site you want..but i feel its wrong to turn around and bash it after your activley involved in it..weather its a website, a club..or anything else.  |

I agrre. I am a memeber of another site. I am the same there as I am here becasue that is the way I am. I also don't think that anyone has the right to call us two face for exploring the internet. I mean that is what the internet is all about. Going into different places learning different things meeting new people. Also no one here said that once we joined we could only be a member at this site. Even Ginger and radman said that we are free to go where we want. I don't bash USM when I am anywhere else on the internet and I hate when people do bash USM.  |

But, since you brought up that other site...I was kicked off of it with no explanation, after I posted a question about the origin of the site. I remember Radman talking here about sites soon being made available to anyone very much like USM. I asked it the admin if he was testing it out for Radman or his company. The admin over there deleted my account without answering me. Little odd wouldn't you say? I would. Sounds pretty much like putting on a front to me. |

No please dont think that about USM, it is the best sight I have ever found, and if you stay around long enough you will see that for yourself, and the best advice I can give, is get to know people like Gail, Ladyluck, Thunderhead, Hawk, Dizzyme, and Spaceborn, they are all very nice people, and they are never mean or nasty! there are lots of others here who are wonderful too! Just give it time,,,,, |

I say whatever I want. You can still get your point across without using swears or other vulgarities. In fact, it is more intelligent when you don't swear or name call every other word. It is not often you hear great minds using some of the language that can be found on other non g-rated sites.  |

*To add on* I think it is just because over time those of us with numbers that are lower have developed a certain "loyalty." Not only to George and Ginger and the site, but to one another. I, personally, would never join this other site. I have checked it out before to see who goes there, and I do not find it to be of any interest to me at all. USM is much more thought provoking and has far less name calling-if you can believe that. At least from my own experience-but that was a while back. Now, I used to think that others going to the other site was back-stabbing, two timing, being a traitor. For the most part I have let go of that opinion, but I still don't think it is very loyal to USM to be a member there. But that is just my super old timer view-please do not be offended by it. |

I agree with you, things that happen there should stay there and things that happen here should stay here. They are seperate websites and should be treated as such. I too, go to this other site you speak of every now and then, but I dont reply much or I just dont have time. I havent EVER and Wont bash USM on any website, because USM is a constant for me. Also, I personally am myself, whether it be here, there, or anywhere else. I have absolutely nothing to hide. Good post.   |

Some may be putting on a front, it's the internet for goodness sakes. I don't have the time to see who's putting on a front and who's not. If I like someone, I just don't care as long as I like them. I just like to read the stories and learn from people. I think people have the right to go to whatever site they choose. They can go to both, BUT if they are backstabbing and bashing we will eventually find out. Personally about the cursing on the other site, I haven't the desire to curse when I post stuff or chat...that doesn't mean that I never curse though...I just don't need to. I do sometimes but I can come to the net to get away from such stuff. Peace,  |

Well to answer your question...I don't think I'm putting up a front here or anywhere. I have been to the other site. I have never posted and think I responded 2 or 3 times. The truth is I'm not all that comfortable with cussing and non G rated. That's not to say I DON'T cuss or get non G rated but for the most part I avoid it. And I DON'T begrudge those who do cuss and get non G rated. It's all a matter of personal taste. Geezz I go to work and I'm all professional and stuff...that don't mean I come home and act like a lady all the time. When I go out with friends I may be rowdy but I wouldn't be that way in church. It's not putting up a front. It's reacting to ones environment and it's a natural, human thing to do.  |

It's fine to belong to other sites. I had a warped idea before and didn't heed thev Serenity Prayer as I should have. I think my own children belong there now but we don't discuss things like that unless they read a funny post somewhere but they don't tell me where they read it. I belong here for now as it is more structured for me. I enjoy it here and never was much for trying new things even at restaurants. I think I'm the same here as I am at other places and when I yahoo im's or the games at pogo. I try to be as real as I can be as I've been lost before. But I agree what goes on at one site should never be brought to another site unless it like, "I heard a funny story or a cool joke at at website I visit". Just my opinion.  |

It boggles the mind, These are all just websites! I'm watching CBS and I change to channel to NBC, am I now a disloyal turncoat? That is what SOME would have us believe. USM mirrors real life, but it's NOT real life. I've met and gotten to know many REAL and good people here, but it's a communication and idea sharing medium (a very good one) but no more than that. No offense to the creators, but I can log off and go on with my normal life just fine.  |

I also have an account to that other site, just basically to see what was going on. I havent made a post there,nor do I intend on doing that. I think many are not so much being too faced as they are allowed to use words that they cant use here. They are also allowed in MOST instances to speak out without being deleted however I DID she a few locked posts. We are all a little different when were not on here, however a few that I've seen over there are a LOT different. YOU are right, things that happen there or any other site SHOULD not be carried over here. BUT some seem to feel the need.  |

I don't think it's being two faced. We can have the same opinions on both sites. The only difference is that we can express ourselves more "colorfully" you might say on the other site because it is not g rated. I'm a member at the other site too and I'm not ashamed at all. I make decisions for myself not because of what others might think. Anyone who has a problem with me being a member at both sites, feel free to email me at [email protected] or message me in yahoo messenger under haunted_one74 I'll be all ears. Instead of just talking about the people who are members on both sites why not go to the sources? I understand what you're talking about with the posts here that make no sense to people who are not members of the other website. I can see where it would cause confusion and irritation. Posts can also be misleading by this too when links can't be given out to non g rated websites to back up what is said in the post.  |
