A short two minutes later, Simon sat down at his spot and took out the bait from his tackle box. His mind was in a daze as fatigue claimed his body and mind. Mindlessly baiting, he poked himself with the hook and jolted awake. Sighing at himself, Simon started fishing. He held the fishing pole with his feet so that any movement would wake him to reel in the fish.
A dreamless sleep vanished when the fishing pole moved. Feeling revived, Simon reeled in the fish with the greatest of ease. "One fish is good enough for me tonight" he thought. He packed in the baits and made sure his hook wouldn't get its.....hook(s?) into him again. Simon heard a scream, it came from up river. He went to investigate. Simon saw a elderly lady in the river, desperately clawing at the rocks to stop herself. Seeing this, Simon grabbed a branch and waded on the edge. He extended the branch, telling the lady to grab for it. Luckily, she heard and saw the branch. Using the last of her strenght, she held onto the branch and trusted her life to Simon. Since Simon slept before, he was full of energy and pulled the elderly lady to shore. They both collapsed on the rocks, panting and laughing.
"Thank you for saving me, you're a hero now!" The old lady blurted. Still Simon laughed. "I want to thank you for saving me, come to my hut and anything that you wish will come true." The lady continued. "Thank you but I don't need a reward." Simon said with gratitude. "But I have to thank you, so whenever you have troubles, I'll be there to help you" With that the elderly lady hobbled off opposite the direction of Simon's cabin. "I wonder how she's going help me....." Simon pondered as he walked to get his fishing gear and walk home.
