As a Christian I would consider myself strong...especially since I was able to turn down drugs, premarital sex and other unsavory things that have been offered to me... |

I think Christians are other people, just like Buddahs, Muslims and atheists. They all deserve respect, and I think of them no better or no worse than than anyone else |

Agree with BCAR...what kind of strength does it take to believe in nothing? Don't you think it takes a stronger person to KEEP faith now-a-days? |

eh, everyone has to have a way to live, some prefer to make their own morals, others need to have them told how to live ..... i can understand why you would think that christians or anyone else would be weaker, but i tend to disagree, as long as they keep to the laws that they are told to . . . my idea of someone weak, is someone that says they live a certain way and then live a completely different way .... eh, i dunno . . . i guess i don't see someone as being weaker for having to have something to believe in, i just personally believe in myself before anything else, but alot of people feel differently, and need to believe that they will be rewarded for their living ... IMO .. |

BCAR said exactly what I would've said! I know that Christians are less likely to kill themselves when faced with major adversity...and as a Christian, I must say that God is our strength and unless you know Him, you wouldn't understand what I mean!~SpaceCase |

While I agree with everything else you have said in this post; I don't really think of Christians as "weak". See, I UNDERSTAND; for I was a Christian for sooooooo many years; and sometimes......sometimes I kinda envy them; know what I mean? Because it DOES take a stong person to go against the tide; against the MAJORITY (who do believe) and try to deal with all the rejection from family members; members who proclaim so loudly that I am "going to burn in hell" and don't even want to discuss anything. I envy them in that whenever there is a tragedy, or loss of a loved one, they can go to "the man upstairs" and take comfort from their "faith"; but at the same time, I KNOW that I prefer reality over the comfort of fantasies. I understand how many will cling desperately to those beliefs, for it is definitely much easier; and a lot less hassles. For most, it would be impossible for them to NOT believe in what they've always known or were always taught. Many layers there.....and one does not throw off all those layers overnight. It is much harder to NOT believe; much harder to be in a small minority, and be thought of as "evil" or "satan worshipers" or perceived as "immoral" simply because you don't have a god belief. |

I believe christians are a strong people who like others so beautifully put it, keep the faith when faced with adversity, and temptation. I think that is so much harder than believing in nothing, and being accountable to nothing. |

I lived ten years as an agnostic (Wanting proof that there was a god before I would believe in one) and during that ten years I always admired the strength of Christians and those of other faiths that believed in a god. They seemed to face fear with a strenghth that I did not understand. |

yes, Thunderhead is right...we are weak (in the flesh) but He is strong (and Christians carry that spirit)...but I also tend to agree with the Thinker (imagine that) that it takes a lot of strength to continue to hold such convictions that God is just a myth when everything in one's being pulls you towards the desire to believe in a higher power...I would never be the person to tell anyone they were going to hell...for I am majorly flawed...the difference is, I have, time and time again been healed by God's redeeming grace...and have made some major mistakes that should've left me dead or alone, and yet God's mercy smoothed the edges of my adversities and made me stronger for it, and it was His love and stength that carried me through those moments when I fell into sin and weakness...I have witnessed god through the love of my husband, the acceptance of friends and through my children's eyes...please don't try to convince me that I've been brainwashed into believing in God, for it was only through my own experience that I KNOW with all my heart that He lives!~SpaceCase |

Please, please, PLEASE, Spacecase; do try to refrain from telling me or anyone else that "everything in one's being is pulling" them toward a god belief!! It is the EXACT opposite. Every single day of my life, EVERY DAY, there is more and more information; more and more reasons shown to me NOT to believe; and more and more Christians and the examples they show make me KNOW beyond any doubt whatsoever....that I am on the right path. Don't tell ME what is in MY own mind, and what it is I believe or WHY I believe the way I do, ok?? You are welcome to your delusions but please stop trying to tell ME that YOU know what my life is like, and stop thinking I am "lost" or adrift in some sort of quest for a belief in the a mythical supernatural "god". That is not the case; not the truth. MY life is much much more fuller, richer and sweeter, since giving up all that religion and reliance upon something that does not exist. I am STONGER; much better able to see things clearer; and work things out MYSELF, than I ever was before. Everyday gets better; and what can be wrong with that. To each his own, Spacecase; and I accept YOUR belief and understand why YOU believe the way YOU do; just try to accept ME as well. |

My husband and I were having a discussion the other night, and we are both Christians. We both agreed that we view atheists people as weak. We came up with many reasons why we feel that way, and some of the reasons why we think people believe in educated guesses, the ever changing theories of mere educated men is because they refuse to go beyond the scientists claim to have as evidence, they do not go beyond a given theory and questions such things as why can't the scientist give solid proof as to where this universe came from, or where life itself came from, or how intellect, design and order came about from an ignorant mass..They base their opinions on what scientists tells them, thats just all there is to it. We view them as weak because they never fight the scientific battle with knowledge, but rather with accepting unproven theories. We view them weak because they let others influence the way they think, and live their lives accordingly. Then we kinda changed our minds, and decided that in a way they are strong too, because it takes a strong person to stand up for what you beleive when now days so many believer in creation are against it. It takes a person who refuses to continue in their studies of the latest theories, which are obviously dying in order for another theory to take it's place. It takes a strong person to follow such teachings and theories... So I was wondering how do you view Atheists?????? |

Wow....since when did this become a competition? LOL. Actually I view people who are positive as strong people and people who are negative as "striving". Being a positive person has nothing to do with a particular religion or belief system. There are strong atheists and strong Christians. I think the very fact that the individual uses their minds and follows their convictions, whatever they may be, used in the positive, shows a strength of character. |

this comment is for LADY NYX first, because obviously thinker already has a closed mind...LADY just said it all...there are strong athiests just as strong christians, moslems, buddists ect....and just as equally, there are weak ones....those who project negativity are weak, those who project positively are strong...it doesn't matter what religion we are....why are we all sterotyping the religion we believe in...we are all individuals with choices we make on our own...do we choose to hurt, manipulate, steal, kill?? or do we choose not to judge, love, understand we are all different with weakness and stengths that make us WHO WE ARE...not who we are because we are christians, atheist...when you first meet someone you really like or whos opinion you value, you don't ask their religion first...what you see is a kind face, a wise voice of someone you may be able to learn from...and you think, i really like this person, you sense them as such a strong indivdual...then you find out their christian/athiest...so all of a sudden this strong person is weak to you because you don't agree with their religion?? thats obsurd...to be honest, i don't even know what religion half my friends are, lol, and it doesn't matter...so what i'm trying to say thinker, is please think for a minute, if you met any of us on the street and thought what a strong individual this person is, then you found out we were christin, would change what you thought of that person you liked because it went against what you believed in?? please, no one is trying to say your religion is wrong or any for that matter...i'm just trying to say it matters who that individual is, not sterotype them because of religion...i'm sorry for the long email but iam a christian and proud of it just as you are proud of yourself, but i won't have someone call me weak because i believe in something they don't, after all you don't even know me...weakness isn't about religion, its about how you view the world and survive in everyday traumas, disasters, loss, accomplishments, love and offer help to a complete stranger, forgiveness...its about losing a child,a mother, best friend and finding the strength to move on....thats the strength we were all born with and NO ONE can take that away from us...yes we all have our own opinions, but calling someone delusional whom you have never met is alittle extreme...i don't think spacecase deserved that comment...religion is discipline...hardly a weakness...it takes more strength to believe in something then not believe....again, iam not telling you to change what you believe, only look first at the person, not the religion.....thank you and i really did mean this post to sound rude....i guess its just one of my strengths talking...lol....it does that alot....angelinesheart |

Hey its great that you can open your eyes to both sides, good and bad. As a christian myself, I think they are strong, in my eyes, we find strength in christ and thats why our faith hasnt died out. I say myself I dont fear death, I dont fear the unknown, I havnt read much of the bible, and lol hardly listen in church... But At the end of the day, God is in my heart, thats all that matters to me |

No I don't agree. Most Christians I know are strong, in perseverance especially. But I agree about the science/bible thing but not the weak thing. I view Christians as strong... in their belief. I think atheists are strong too... I think all religions and non-religions are strong. Real Christians are OK .. no problem - it's when they tell me I'm going to hell for not believing that riles me. Then I become strong LOL... So strength isn't dependant on belief - it's an inner quality. Coolade |

Don't know if my beliefs make me weaker or stronger Than one who doesn't believe. All I know is that I find the idea that the universe and everything in it was created by someone easier to swallow than the idea that everything just magically appeared one day. |
