OH, the utmost ammount of love and compassion for another......what does sacrafice mean?

Today Collin came home from work. Both of us Peaking above the hill by our home at the same time, each looking toward one another. Both of us driving up simotaniously. I, in the purple, 2001 Dodge, Minivan that My Mother had just recently purchased earlier this year and Collin in the old Dodge truck, still covered with Oregon Cow Poo, met, driveway to driveway. As I came down the long street, I gazed across the hill preceeding our homes, I couldn't tell if My Loti was home as of yet. I soon saw that he was arriving just as we were.

As my mother and I pulled up in the driveway, adjasent to her home, We noticed two beautiful white dogs barking at the Neighbors mutts side by side. Apon easing into the driveway, My mother and I both Noticed the Condition of the apparently lost canines. The two dogs, male and female, were both immatiated. My mother and I both gasped at the Horrific condition of the lost animals.

Arriving Simotaniously, Collin and I both fealt like we, at least, owed the two poor dogs a meal. Collin and I both agreed that we should shelter the two animals in our backyard until they had eaten some food, water and had some rest for the evening. That we did.

Night fell as we watched our "weekly Borrowed Movies" and let the Boys play on the Computer. It came my turn on the net, I listened to the complaints of my son and his whines of grief. He hadn't been as accepted, as Usual, on the Internet home we call, USM.

I soon heard a scratching sound at the door of my office. Greater was the howls of lonliness echoing through the walls, reverberating to the inside of our home. I sat at the PC and checked my Messages. I could bear no more, I had to open the office door to console the strange animals we had offered our home so graciously too.

Earlier in the day apon the dogs arrival we had tried to feed the two canines. The male of the two dogs would not eat. He insisted that the female eat first and he paced in a measure of protection to the female. She ate, but, as she did, the male, looking as pitiful as he did, climed the dog house and tried to persuade her over. The female never followed, but howled as if she were pleadin for his return. The male dog was stuck in my mothers yard. Collin finally had to go into my mothers yard to retrive the male of the attached couple. When he returned, all was well with the traveling couple.

As I sat at my desk, I could take no more of the howling. I grabbed the outside doorknob of the office and quickly opened the door of our backyard. The male shoved his head in as the female peaked around the edge of the door. They both looked so pathetic, but, at the same time so in sync and content with oneanother.

I grabbed our small dogs bowl and filled it up with food. (of course , our dogs were extremly jealous) The male of the two scarfed it down. The female, already full, watched as he filled his aneroxic ribs. I watched and thought, Earlier he sacraficed, now, she sacrafices, shouldnt life be a mere sacrafice? The male had always let the female go first. I watched in amazement. It was apparent that the two animals had been the subjects of abuse. Each time Collin or I had reached for one of them, it resulted in whimpering and tucking. (and to think, we wanted to take Onie away from a perfect home in Oregon) The two poor amimals condition and behavior had proven abuse. The female had obviously been bread to the point of exaustion and her physical condition had proven it.

I watched as the male finally ate his fill, he, being the sickest of the two, had finally stepped up to the plate and stood for himself. He ate in a way I have never seen an animal eat. He was truly starved. With each bite he gazed back at the femal, as if to say, it is yours, anytime you want more I will sacrafice. The male ate and ate till he and the female canines drifted into sleep.

As I sat here writing this, I wondered, Do we matesd truly sacrafice for our equal other? I know Loti does, I know I do. Do you? Don't you think if two dismissed canines are capable of it that WE ARE? I do Not know what you feel, I only know what I feel. I do know, no matter what, one of us will be stepping up to the plate for the other.

How it changed my life:

Isn't it strange how dogs can make you think of how you live your own life by their wittness to one another?.......I think so. As good a wife and husband as these canines are, I would love to see each as a parent and spouse as I HAVE.

God Bless and Hugs and deeper thoughts to you all...

TX...Aka,....Judi
