Date: 8/11/2002 1:08:00 PM From Authorid: 46527 OK, something I have always wondered...I'd be really interested if you can get an answer to this: Jehovah's Witnesses are willing to allow themselves and their children to die rather than have a blood transfusion. They believe that it is wrong for the blood of another being to enter another's body. Why in this case are they not all vegetarian? An old much asked question perhaps but one that I have never recieved a satisfactory reply to. |

Date: 8/11/2002 1:16:00 PM From Authorid: 46527 A quick addition to my above reply: I know that there are blood free substances that can be used instead of blood, but these are expensive and hospitals are not always able to use them. It's the vegetarian thing that I want the answer to, there is surely blood in meat? |

Archaeological findings do not support and in some cases directly contradict Biblical stories describing the birth of the Jewish people. Since there was NO mass exodus of Jews from Egypt; then just WHO does have rights to the state of Israel? Also, since Moses was supposed to have smashed the ORIGINAL tablets to peices (10 Commandments), and he said he would provide another; AND since there are THREE sets of the 10 commandments (Protestant...Roman Catholic...Hebrew) and each set differs; just which set is CORRECT? |

Date: 8/11/2002 5:08:00 PM From Authorid: 23610 There are no original manuscripts for the books in the Bible. All we have are copies of copies. |
Date: 8/11/2002 5:11:00 PM From Authorid: 23610 The Bible was cannonized during the time of Emperor Constantine. Before that there was no Bible as we now know it. Much of what Christianity believes today was decided by Councils under the Christian Organization begun by Constantine. Beliefs and standards were "voted" on by the councils and those who who did not follow....were either condemned, exiled, or killed. Many scriptures were burned and destroyed during this time that contradicted or went against the teachings in the books that the "Church" had decided to use in the Bible. Some of these books were hidden and can be found in the Nag Hammadi Library in Egypt (and online). |
