Date: 8/7/2002 6:23:00 PM From Authorid: 60656 You have inspired me... I am going to start smoking. |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:24:00 PM From Authorid: 45948 AMEN to that!!!!! I have always thought that one. I always tell people who tell me that smoking causes cancer that so does being out in the sun, but I don't see you sitting inside all day long! That usually shuts them up for a while. |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:25:00 PM From Authorid: 20956 Yeah i know what you mean. I get hassled out all the time because of it. Once i was standing out the front of a shop in the street finishing of my smoke and a guy walking past stopped and said "Did you know those will kill you?" i just looked at him and thought "You are a ******!". Sorry if i sound rude but just because i smoke doesnt mean i am stupid!! But at the same time i understand that my friends and family only care about me so i can put up with their concerns. On a side note i would like to say that even as a smoker, one thing i can NOT stand is when i see a pregnant woman smoking ~ fair enough she may wish to endanger her life by her habit but i think that it is VERY VERY wrong for her to endanger her unborn child. I have also cut right down recently cause although i actually enjoy smoking i think that its a really disgusting habit but i cant quit all together (yet) cause i love it too much!! |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:25:00 PM From Authorid: 60656 JK, I wanted to say that I understand how you feel. It is annoying when people keep telling you things you already know... |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:28:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 46005 I agree- a pregnant woman smoking makes me want to just rip the cigarette out her hands, and smack her silly ------ |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:28:00 PM From Authorid: 24732 Yay, good for you I wish more people would think like this and stop trying to brainwash kids with "the truth" commercials. Of all things I hate, those commercials are on the top of my list. I've never seen a greater waste of $ on a lost cause. I don't smoke because I have a severe allergy to the smoke and ended up in the ER one Christmas because of my uncle smoking in the house. But I'm not against smokers or tabacoo, I just have to stay away from the smoke. |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:29:00 PM From Authorid: 33573 Ok you say hold your tongue back unless telling your child? That doesn't make sense to me...I am against smoking. My dad just quit after 31 years. He says he liked it and didn't want to give it up he just quit for me and my sister. Personally I don't care how tired and sick of people telling you. I know you know of all the risks and that you are just addicted. I did a speech on smoking in public and which I was against it. When you smoke in public that is a horrible role model smoking infront of others kids. They look up to you. Then as you know second hand smoke. I have many more reasons but as you said " you don't want to hear it." |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:29:00 PM From Authorid: 53427 Well, I don't have anything against smokers. I used to be one myself. But I quit over a year ago and I will never start back. I hated smoking when I was doing it I wanted to quit so bad. I used to tell people (when I was a smoker) that I wished they would outlaw cigarettes because I was just so addicted, I didn't think I could ever quit. But I did!! I am a proud nonsmoker now. |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:30:00 PM From Authorid: 33573 I don't mean to sound offensive or anything and I know I sound like a "butt" but these are my beliefs and my views just you have yours. So don't hassle me because I don't believe in smoking. |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:30:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 46005 volley i said your kids, or ones you love, but yeah your right, i really dont want to hear it- no offense to you- but im sure you wont say anything i havent heard a million times ! |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:31:00 PM From Authorid: 33573 Yeah I know you said your kids but I mean .... say a 30 year old is tired of it so they don't want anyone nagging on them? Well then your parents can nag on you all they want then? |

You are right it is noone business but your owns,I smoked for over 14 yrs and just decided to quit 8 months ago, went cold turkey it was not easy but you will only quit when you are ready no matter how expensive thay may be or what people tell you..only thing I regret is that I eat more, and I was not prepared for that I have never weighted more than 100 lbs( 135 nine months pregnant),and I went from a size 1 and 3 to a 7 sometimes 9,that is the part I hate...so more power to you remember smoking might be bad for you but you have the right to choice to do so... |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:33:00 PM From Authorid: 17275 I agree with you, I am not a smoker any longer but, when I did my retort was always I know how I am going to die do you??? Yea I know pretty rude on my part but, left them speechless! |

I totally agree with you!! I'm almost 21 and have been smoking since before i could even legally buy them and i dont know how many people have told me how bad they are.I know this. What do non-smokers think all of the smokers came off of weird planet or something and that we dont know anything?!? *Kandi* |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:40:00 PM From Authorid: 23610 I do agree...it is your choice and no one else's. I certainly wouldn't think it was my right to control you by telling you what to do....nor would I want anyone controlling me. Most people don't like to be controlled....but it's funny how they can turn around and try to control others. |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:41:00 PM From Authorid: 53052 i am against smoking but i do not tell people who do smoke what to do and to quit and that it's bad for them... i ask them not to smoke around me and most smokers respect that, and in return i respect them for being smokers and not try and change them... BUT i do get annoy that i see people on WELFARE in this town smoking, here a pack costs 7bux(for 20 smokes) the goverment is paying welfare and they spend it on smokes.. that annoys me... sorry i got alittle off topic... and it's great you spoke out about it!!... i hope some people stop bugging you about it.... midnihgtly |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:41:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 well hun, I used to be a smoker and gave up, but it was my choice and I did it when I was ready to, I would never try to tell peeps to give it up as it is a personal choice, mind you I am so glad that I did....I used to call them lung bungers and nails for my coffin lol!!!its purely up to you hun. hugs Zema |
Date: 8/7/2002 6:59:00 PM From Authorid: 48858 Mmmm smoking...I love it and I love those who do it, especially sexy men...hee hee. Oh wait, I love sexy men anyway. POWER TO THE SMOKERS! |
Date: 8/7/2002 7:14:00 PM From Authorid: 53909 Amen!!! I am a smoker as well and it bugs me when people tell me that it's so bad. Yes, I know it's bad!! It's my choice so deal with it! I once had a little girl that saw me smoking she said to her mom really loud "Momma, she's smoking....She's gonna die!!!" I totally agree with you on all of this. *PunkStarChik* |
Date: 8/7/2002 8:21:00 PM From Authorid: 19927 i believe those who are on your case about it are the ones who actually care about you, and are stopping you before you go too far and get cancer or enphezema(sp) when you get older. |
Date: 8/7/2002 9:33:00 PM From Authorid: 34487 I've never been a smoker so fortunately, I don't have to deal with that issue. I have people in my family that smoke and due to my asthma and baby I don't allow them to smoke near us. Generally, they will be respectful. It sounds as if you are a respectful smoker. I only get mad at disrespectful smokers that smoke right in my face or near my baby, then I let them have it. Ultimately, non-smokers should have the right to breath fresh air above smokers to dirty it. I do think you sound like you are considerate and I agree that it's no one's business but yours if you choose not to stop. |
