Date: 8/5/2002 7:15:00 PM From Authorid: 20559 No there is no proof that God exists but God 'lets bad things happen' because they have to in order for our souls to evolve. I have been through quite a few things in my time and that is what I believe. You need to grieve and eventually you will realise that is just a sad thing that happened and you will be stronger for it |

Date: 8/5/2002 7:21:00 PM From Authorid: 50342 Yes, if you do not believe in God, it is your choice, along with your own opinion as to what you want to believe. This also goes along with your pastor's choice not to do your uncle's funeral; freedom of choice and opinion. Sometimes it can be distressful... |

Date: 8/5/2002 7:22:00 PM From Authorid: 22628 there are somethings that can't be stopped. All those things could have been much worse, so instead of seeing the bad in all that try to see the good. God can't stop every act of evil that happens. |

Well...The Bible states that God is not the AUTHOR of evil. He didnt create aids or make those planes hit the towers. I understand your feelings. Life is soooooooo hard sometimes. We wonder WHY he allows bad things to happen. But just look at all the beauty too. EX: The sun is neither 1 inch closer or futher than it has to be. Humans cant create nice things like sun-sets , puppies, kittens. He made our bodies w/incredable precision. All five senses, he provided food, (natural food fruit, vegs, animals. Ever REALLY look at a flower? Or a starry sky? These things are gifts he gave when he creaated the world. The author of evil is satan. Hes the one that rebelled and makes life seem terrible. Try to look at the GREAT things God has done. Not dweeling on the negative. I will pray for you. EVERYONE DOUBTS GODs GOODNESS at one time or another. Hang in there K9mom |
Date: 8/5/2002 7:24:00 PM From Authorid: 16865 Perhaps you are asking the right question but in the wrong way. You do not have to believe in a diety at all for "bad" things to happen. So maybe you should ask "Why do 'bad' things happen?" I believe they happen as lessons for us to learn from. You specifically mentioned the OK bombing and the twin towers. While everyone is running to support the ideas that we hold dear in the USA, we're failing to see the misery we inflict on other people by our foreign policies. I think that these things will happen until we see the error in OUR ways instead of their ways. When terrorists want to destroy us, we should fear our government, not the terrorists. JMO. When people die, there is always a lesson to learn there also. When my son died in my arms at five days old, I couldn't see then how much he would have suffered, how much I would have suffered. He was a lesson for me to learn what true love is, what responsibility is, and just how vulnerable we are. Some lessons are painful, but I feel if we learn from them then we will grow personally, as a people, and as the interconnected souls that we share. Not everything that is "bad" is really bad. Okay, so I locked my infant in a car one time, I learned how to be a little more careful, have a spare key, be prepared, and how to watch my belongings a little better. I was a better parent from it, and more responsible. Try to find the lesson in everything and maybe you won't see the bad in things as much. Yes, it will hurt. But not everything is going to be handed to you on a silver platter. |
Date: 8/5/2002 7:25:00 PM From Authorid: 58303 Wow. You wrote some really deep stuff there. First off, I want to say that there are evil people in this world and nothing can change that--not even God. People will be tempted by greed and self-fulfillment. Bad things happen in life because it is a part of growing up. We have to learn how to be strong in times of sorrow. If everything were so perfect all the time, we'd all live like children. We wouldn't so much look for miracles because there would be no need for any. People look to God because He helps strengthen our souls when we feel there's nothing left to do. Not all people who work in the church are "God's messengers". There will be people who are fake and don't see the true beauty that God brings. People who don't "practice what they preach". Just because your uncle was gay, does that make him less of a human? No, it doesn't. Like many people have said in the past, "Aren't we all God's children?" There are so many things that prove there is some form of God out there. So many people who ask God for a sign and He gives them one. If you truly believe, then God is definitely there. I'm not saying that you have to believe in God, but this is what I feel about God in our lives. Hope this helps. |
Date: 8/5/2002 7:25:00 PM From Authorid: 36994 things happen for a reason, though what happens isn't always something we would want, something that we can't prevent. yes its your choice to either believe or not, i do understand why you feel this way. i think things happen like that though, because in means of giving us some kind of wake up call. |
Date: 8/5/2002 7:27:00 PM From Authorid: 53909 I agree with you on some of these points. Where has God been in times like that? Nothing has proved to me that there really is a God. But I do believe that there is something out there that has made the world..etc etc...I believe that there are more than one God. I dont like the fact that some people that follow God are against Gay people. My brother is gay, my father (who is a strick christian) does not know that he is Gay. If he found out, I'm sure that he would disown him. Why do people think gay people are bad or whatever?? Why did God let September 11th happen? Why do innocent people die? I dont know...I feel the same with you...*PunkStarChik* |
Date: 8/5/2002 7:31:00 PM From Authorid: 11528 Hi Alex, It must have been devastating when they refused to do service for Your Dad. I know my stepdad wouldnt go to my brothers funeral service because my stepdad was Christian and my brother was alcoholic and died from drinking too much too quick. Anyway You have to believe in Yourself, be a good person and seek the real truth about things in life. The god of the bible was just a creation of the hebrews based on other gods from neighbouring countries. The Romans developed the story even further, but it is all a manipulation that in large part has done much harm over the centuries. Be strong and be prepared. These manipulative men who have built thier great institutions are about to get a rude awakening. Thier institutions are about to collapse on them. Just wait and watch, I know its coming. *Smiles to You*. Bye for now. Enki |
Date: 8/5/2002 7:33:00 PM From Authorid: 38192 It's good that you question things, cause your suppose to... I dont like to believe what others expect me to believe... I mean, why should I? I do have faith in God but there is always that thing that I think about. And you've already said it... I get so angry with people who just think that they knew what went on millions of years ago... I mean, so what if theres written things. They could have been made up... Im not trying to doubt God, even though it sounds like it, but Im just trying to get some of the things that Ive been thinking about, out of my system... Anyway, Someone "back in the day" could have just written the bible for people, so they could have something to live by, and it gave them hopes knowing that there was someone who looked out for them... I dont know this, but Im just thinking... Also, what if God is just a happy thought? I too, went to summer school as a kid, and went to church every sunday, but Im 15 years old know, and haven't gone into a church in 6 years. I get uncomfortable in there... But thats all i really want to say... |

okay..... god doesnt exist (sorry christians this is what i belive. u carry on doing ur thing) yeh, so anyway gos doesnt exist. he is made up by people long ago becuase they dont know why they exist. death is the most scary and baffling thing to peole because life and living is about exisiting. nobody can get their head around not existing anymore. its sad but true. wen u die u do not exist - only in peoples memories do u exist. but its not that bad because you will not exist for it to make you feel sad... live life to the full - forget about death, dont die in vain, dont waste your life.... sorry if i upset anyone. this is my belief. u can just ignor it if u want... _phOeniX fLaME GiRL |

I'm very sorry that you had to experience that. I'm not going to try and go into every single reason why I believe God exists and the Bible is inspired. One thing I WOULD like tos stree though, is the human ability to find "evidence" to back up their pre-disposed beliefs. This is not an attack on you. But the fact is, if a person is looking for prook that God doesn't exist, they will succeed. The same goes for someone that is looking for prrof that he DOES exist. It's a product of human nature. It's very hard for a person to change their beliefs. But sometimes one has to use the power of reason, to look at both sides of the story logically, to come up with the correct conclusion. I believe in God because I simply don't believe that life came because the right amount of the right chemicals came together in the right place at the right time. And as scientistslearn more, and technology becomes more advanced, it becomes increasingly less likely that there is life anywhere else in the universe. And I consider myself an intellectual person. I believe in science and mathematics as absolute, and the probability of these things happening are so minute, that I can't reason that it happened. On the other hand, the Bible is one of our best resources as to the proof of God. It has remained in the world in large numbers for 2,000 years, among harsh persecution, including mass burnings and the non-allowance of the pages to be translated for a number of years. It is scientifically accurate, claiming the Earth to be round and "hanging upon nothing" over 2500 years ago, at a time when sailors still thought that if they made it to the horizon they would fall off the egde, and people believed the Earth was being balanced atop Atlas' shoulders. The cities in the Bible exist, from Damascus to Babylon, Jerusalem to Antioch, as did the rulers, from Alexander the Great and Tiberius Caesar to Pontius Pilate and Nuebuchadnezzar. And many of the accounts can be found in archaelogical records. They can also be found in many other mythical settings, all across the globe. Even Western civilizations had their flood accounts, and Tower of Babel stories. They had to all start from somewhere, and the stories certainly didn't travel across the ocean 4,000 or more years ago. But whether a person believes or not is up to them. If there is still a sliver of optimism in you, I encourage you to really study the Bible, to find out what's really in there. It may be surprising. For example, the fact that God never promises to protect all his subjects. One can hardly find a man more righteous than Job, and yet he was stricken with boils, his livestock was killed, and he was persecuted by his friends and his family, even his wife!! And that same book speaks of God's ALLOWANCE of Satan to challenge his subjects. God's authority was brought into question when Satan told Eve that she "positively will not die" by eating the fruit, and that God's subjects would only follow those who were never had to withstand persecution. "The work of his hands you have blessed," Satan claimed abou Job. God is allowing these things to take place to assure Satan that his subjects will obey him no matter what, and when he decides it is time Satan will be destroyed, and the earth will once again to the paradise it was in the beginning. Events like the World Trade Center and Murrah Building bombings, and the fighting in the West Bank and Kashmir, are caused by Satan's influence, in an attempt to cause us to lose faith, in thinking that it was God's will. If you continue to believe that there is no God, then by all means you are entitled to that belief. But I encourage you give God another chance. He does care about us; his will is that "all sorts of men should be saved." (1 Timothy 2:4) But he wants us to come to him on our own, not because our parents tell us too, or because we believe what our Reverend or Preacher says. I encourage you to hold fast, and not be over-distraught over the casualties of the world, as they are many. If you need any further assurance, have any questions, or simply wish to discuss any matter, Biblical or not, I am available. |

Date: 8/5/2002 8:28:00 PM From Authorid: 59099 God is real & he does luv u. I often find myself mad @ God because my mom died of cancer when i was three. But, God only puts obstacles in ur life that he knows u can handle. it was that pastors decision 2 not do ur uncle's funeral & that is sad. i am friends w/gay people & it doesn't bother me & i am a true christian who believes in God w/ all my heart. If nothing bad ever happened (like the twin towers & the OK bombing & ur uncle's death) where would the compassion be. Every 1 would be happy & no 1 could cheer each other up. Do u c wut i'm saying? Trust me God is looking over u rite now & thinking about wut a great human he made when he created u. I f u ever wanna accept God back in2 urlife then pray about it w/him he'll understand. And remember that God will never stop luving u & no matter how many times u turn away from him he is always there ready 2 accept u once again! I hope this was a lil' bit of help 2 ya!!! LuCkYdUcK |

Date: 8/5/2002 9:01:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 You need to think about this as JUST because men/women do STUPID things, you should blame their ignorance and not blame God. Have you been away from church so long that you can not recall that satan is the god of this world? That it is he that causes bad things to happen? If you were to really study about God, about Jesus, about the REAL LIFE archology, *sorry mispelled* things that have been found that are written in the bible, towns, people, ect ect. Then you would know that God is real. When you die, your flesh dies and not your spirit. God did not make that person not give the services that should have been given to that young person that died of aids. THAT was just ignorance on his part, put the blame where it goes, on MAN kind. NOT God. I could give you a thousand reasons, and the proof of experience in these areas that have proven to me there is a God, and If your ever interested , well you know where to find me. |
Date: 8/5/2002 9:04:00 PM From Authorid: 34487 Where was God??? Where isn't God is the real question. I get upset when people blame God for any type of negativity. God is the opposite of evil and Satan is what causes the 9-11 tragedy. Satan is even sly enough to turn things around to make God take the blame. You are blaming God for things that he never caused. Yes, God allows things to happen sometimes so humans can learn. This is why he gave us "FREE WILL" and we cause things like 9-11 due to our freedom. If God prevented every bad thing from happening then what would be the point in being here. We are here to learn to have faith and trust in God, that is the ultimate challenge. If things were peachy all the time... what would be the point? Satan was allowed to dwell upon the Earth because humans have to make choices for themselves either good=God, or bad=Satan. I guess it's frustrating for me to here people blame God for things he never caused. You say there isn't proof of God, well then disprove him. It's much easier to prove him the disprove his existence. Children are miracles that are God's creation, the Earth and everything here could have only been created by one creator, God. Evil is all around us and will be forever if we choose to stay with it. You must have felt God's presence at some point in your life, if you didn't then you never really knew him or let him in. Good luck to you and God bless.... |
