We all think that we know the difference between right and wrong but who is to make that decision. As I grew up in this city things were rough and I seen a lot of bad things happen. Now that I am older I reflect back to the days that I choice to do the things that I did and I ask myself "did I have to do that?" My family was poor and on wellfare most of my life and I got picked on a lot cause of my clothes and shoes. I decided that I was going to get a job and try and help my family. By age fourteen I was mowing lawns and working for a friends uncle picking up garbage at roofing sites. The money was alright but it never seemed enough. both of my parents worked all day and I almost never saw them. The next year I was so determined to get more money for my family that I choose the wrong route. What it was doesn't really matter but if you guess you are probably right. Point is I had money and nice clothes and expensive shoes. By the time I was sixteen I had my own car and paid for just about everything that I wanted. I still worked to make things look good to people that didn't know what I was really doing. I worked part time at burger king. Eventually I got out of it and now have a real job that pays good money. Is money everthing? To some one that never had it it is at first but not anymore and I have realized this. Back to the question at hand. My choice to do the wrong thing for the right reason was the only choice that I saw that would help my family. Am I right or not? My choices, yours, everyones choice right or wrong is made by the belief that it helps someone. Now this is not true in all cases I am not talking about murders or psychos. I'm talking about the adverage person that has been put in a bad situation. So tell me what is the difference between right and wrong?

Date: 7/24/2002 1:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 34902    now i am not saying this to make it sound like I know everything (which I do by the way) but it all depends on who got hurt by wour supposed wrong doings. so being a hitman to help out your sick grandmother is probly out of the question.
Date: 7/26/2002 3:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 59712    There is no such thing as absolute wrongs or rights. Humans have evolved with certain value systems, but that is all they are: value systems.
Date: 8/11/2002 7:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 29387    well, I'm going to go with an answer of nothing. Shakepeare once said: "There is nothing good or evil in the world; thinking makes it that." Th Bard has a very good point; who diffrentiates between murder and kindness, and opposite? Right pertains to morals and ethics, and wrong to sins and crimes. I think that the concept of right and wrong originated in the Bible.....I don't know-good post though!
Date: 8/15/2002 12:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 54196    Nothing wrong with dealing drugs, if that's what you're asking. Supply and demand. Giving the people what they want. NOTHING wrong with that.
Date: 9/22/2002 10:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 53182    yes, the universe didn't bestow upon us right and wrongs. its all what is socially acceptable, or morally exceptable by you, that diffines what is right and what is wrong. things that were socially ok 500 years ago are unthinkable now, where as now we do and say things that would have eternaly damned you to hell 500 years ago. (i na christian sense.) its all perspective. -the lost boy
