~*// Agreeing to Disagree... I like that saying! \\*~

It's difficult to agree to disagree in every situation. I've practiced for years and I think I'm finally getting better at it. I realize many people like to debate and discuss and that's fine. The only problem that may arise is when an innocently intended debate, turns nasty.

We've all seen this and it will always exist. The only thing that helps me, is to continuously remind myself that no human can change another human. A person has to want to feel, think, look or be a certain way, for it to happen.

We all give our opinions or advice from time to time and sometimes it's appreciated, other times it's not. When I respond to someone that I totally disagree with, I try to give a response in the least offensive manner possible. Unfortunately, no matter what we say or how nicely we say it, someone will always find it offensive.

"Honesty is the best policy," as they say, even if it's the opposition. What we say sets the mood and creates an end result and if it's said with care, it will generally be well received. It's difficult to get along in every situation so, that's where I'll try to agree to disagree! ;o)

Date: 7/22/2002 10:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 998    What a well phrased post here You Choose. By trying to say everything in the best, non-irratating way, we hope that we will never be misunderstood, or attacked. So, I guess we need to depend on those reading our comments, to try hard to understand our idea's without being defensive. I hope I will always be able to stand on both sides of this idea, and in the best way possible.
