Letter sent to all arrivals in the Sol-System - after Earth’s destruction - to humans.
Hello, and welcome to the Sol-System.
You have just arrived in the Sol-System, and you have been issued this letter to bring you up to date on the latest events in the region, as you have probably been in Hyper-sleep for several years during your interstellar travel. In that time it is likely that many things have changed, and all will not be as you expected it to be as when you left from your journeys initiation.
This letter has been designed to somehow soften the blow that the following information we are about to give may cause. But unfortunately there is no soft way to go about it. Bluntly put…
Earth is no more.
Earth has been destroyed. The planet is now another debris belt circling in our system.
It is likely that you are now in a state of disbelief, perhaps even shock. That is expected, and has been reported by many of those who have arrived before you. Their next question is usually, “How?”
As much as we wish we could answer you this question, we cannot. We have no idea how this occurred, as it was violent, sudden and instantaneous. There were no survivors. If you had family on Earth, we sincerely offer you the condolences of the Human Regime and the rest of Humanity.
Also, you should be informed. The Human Regime is now at war with the Ishanti and the Retak. The Machiners Guild has removed all their operations from all human controlled systems and now refuse to assist us in anyway. They claim we are now a dead race. Even when a vast number of Guild members are humans themselves. But even they too, have abandoned us.
But as we have always done throughout our history, we will survive, and we will build anew. With the help of every human, we can reach our old glory, perhaps even restore Earth one day. But we must work towards this goal together. Without everyone’s help, it cannot be done.
