It can be sore. Depends if you have had it pierced for a long time or for about a month. ![]() |
Date: 7/22/2002 12:06:00 AM From Authorid: 55727 Mine took about 4-5 months to fully heal. For the first month I was in extreme pain and was completely sore. However, I was wearing one of the ring-shaped piercings which apparently make it harder to heal quickly since there is a tendency for the already sensitive area to get irritated by tight fitting garments or jeans etc. Instead, I would recommend choosing a barbell shaped piercing which will not be moved around by clothes and will therefore heal faster. Oh, and make sure you clean the area with antiseptic spray and a Q-tip frequently (4-5 times a day). Remember not to remove the piercing for atleast a year (unless it has gotten infected) as the hole has a tendency to close up quickly (sometimes within a day if not completely healed!)....Goodluck!!! |

I took out my belly button ring for 7 months last year and it didn't close up at all. When I put a new one in, it slid right in like normal. ![]() ![]() |

It usually takes a few weeks to heal if u take care of it with the wash they give you..keep it clean, follow the directions carefully, and it will heal quick. If you get lazy and don't take care of it in the beginning, it could be a puss-filled, painful problem. Not black and blue, but it would get infected and very sore to the touch. booglyboo#1995![]() |

Hey! I have my belly pierced, and mine only took about a month o heal.! When I got my belly done, they told me to use Neosporin. I used neosporin and a surgical cleanser call hibicleanse. You turn your ring, while squirting hibicleanse directly on it in the shower. The hibicleanse almost alwyas keeps it from getting infected, twice as much as neosporin, but neosporin helps with the healing. It is normal for gooky stuff, and crusty stuff to come out of you belly button for awhile, but if you use the neosporin and hibicleanse, it will get better much faster. you can get hibicleanse at Kroger. I was able to change my belly ring after 2 months. Have fun! |

Mine took about a month. Plus you have to wash your belly button daily with anti-bacterial soap.Soft Soap is good to use. This keeps from it getting infected. Mine didnt turn black and blue. Just a little swollen and red...~*Robyn*~ ![]() |
