Booing the national anthem, what's next? *By Kitsune Cuteness*

Did you hear about that hockey game where the anthem was boo ed?? The game was Canada versus the staes, and the US people booed the canadian anthem! and then (to prove us Canadians are so mature) the Canadians booed the American anthem! what's the world comming to?! I don't know about you, but booing a national anthem is a big no no! I mean, it's okay to root for your country and be proud of it, but you do not boo others anthems! what were the people thinking!?

In my opinion this is showing how competative people have become to try and say their country is the best, when we all know that Japan is the best. (just joking) I don't see how anyone could try to say that they're country is the best while going around and being all immature. I'm not ragging on the US fans,(and I don't mean to offend anyone). I'm also thoroughly dissapointed in the Canadians. I personally, as a Canadian, am ashamed at the behavior of my fellow Canadians.

what went wrong with people today?

Date: 7/21/2002 6:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 38474    People really need to grow up and start showing a little maturity, this is truly sad bahavior on the part of BOTH countries. How do we expect children to learn and show good sportsmanship when the adults can't even practice it? Truly sad.........
Date: 7/21/2002 6:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 59073    Thats just pathetic! LOL! I'm Canadian and that's pretty mean for them to boo at us.. what did WE do? We are they're freaking neighbors! It's not like we're completely protected from terrorist attacks! And I say we are pretty pathetic to boo at the US... LOL......

Date: 7/21/2002 6:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    i think showing disrespect to someone's country is showing disrespect to your own! it's great to be proud of the contry which you have come from and are part of but it's NOT ok to disrespect another country expecially in something as petty as sports!!
Date: 7/21/2002 6:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 35720    That's really wrong! No one's country should be booed! Sorry this happened to all the Canadians.. I guess we started it. *HUGS* Love,
Date: 7/21/2002 6:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    There's no simple answer and I can see no solution. This world has gone straight to Hell and I think everyone sure must realize it by now. Nobody has any respect for anyone or their beliefs and feelings anymore. Morality and decency are things of the past. May God be with us all.
Date: 7/21/2002 6:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    i do somewhat agree with frankinstein-- this world has gone down hill morals are all but forgotten in the past now... soo many people are disrespecting other people and not careing
Date: 7/21/2002 6:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 47570    Lord help us and our children. What are we as adults setting for examples. I work in the public schools and see so much lack of respect but I feel it comes from the home. You would think in the wake of 911 people all over the world would see what happened to such a powerful country and would take better stock in theirs. Little Kitty
