Hello everyone I am seriously considering moving to a different state, but I don't know how to go about it. I mean I can't just go there and get an apartment first and then hope I find a job there. And I can't just spend all my money and travel for job interviews in the hopes of getting a job, then if I do actually get it I still have no place to live. If anyone has moved a long distance or knows anyone who has, can you please give me some suggestions I really could use some and I just don't know where to start.

Thanks so much for any help you may have....Lisa

Date: 7/21/2002 5:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 44321    Well what we did was come out for a few weeks,we waited till we got our tax return for money and stayed here for a few weeks looking for work and a house,my hubby got his job first then we went back home and moved where we are now. We were lucky enough to have his grandmom here to stay with for those weeks while we looked.I wish you Good Luck in your plans.
Date: 7/21/2002 6:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 53838    If you have a degree in something you could serch the web in the town you think you might like to relocate to send out resumes. I moved from a big city to a small town and I just love it. I took a big cut in pay but it was worth it.. Old Lady
Date: 7/21/2002 7:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    i moved for school purposes i moved about 20 hours away...i also moved in with my BF who followed me down.. he went straight looking for work and he found work within 3 months of being here.. full time work at that
Date: 7/22/2002 12:55:00 AM  From Authorid: 18516    Try the web..look for a house or apartment in the area your wanting to move to. Also call the chamber of commerce of the area and find out everything you can about the city or town. It would also be best if you could make a trip out there to look for a job. That might be easier on you.
Date: 7/22/2002 7:15:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 19173    Thanks Medusa, Old Lady and 53052 That's a good idea Lemon, I didn't think of the Chamber of commerce. I'll have to check that out....Lisa
