Gonna Make You Think

Just keep liberals in charge and the government will be telling us when we can go to the bathroom! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don`t think it`s just one party. Seems all the politicians except for a couple who truly care, are trying to get a free ride votewise on this fear of individualism. It`s really the American people allowing it, either through ignorance or through antipathy.

Also, it`s a matter of control. I mean, it must be really nice to have a position where if you don`t like something, you can back a bill to make it disappear and be supported by a bunch of fanatics who can`t control themselves and so want everyone controlled. We can`t expect them to go away, we have a duty to a "free America", to make it free again.

I mean, America and some third world countries are the only ones I know that will throw your butt in jail for using your brain to figure out something that would benefit the nation in one way or another. One calls those third world countries back-waters, technalogically immature, and dictatorships, but it`s ok here? Here it`s under the guise of "for your own good". For your own good your not allowed to eat this, for your own good you can`t drink that, for your own good you can`t break the passkey on a dvd player and then tell the company "look what I discovered". What we have going on here is a stifling of individualism and a block on learning just so the government and a few big businesses can earn a little bit more money per twinkie (or what have you). And it`s supported by what? People who have no self control and need a parent?

We are adults, we are passed needing a mommy or daddy to tell us what to do (or at least I should hope so). Some of us like making our own mistakes and dealing with them as adults. Why should a few idiots who can`t seem to somehow make through adulthood without someone to boss them around take away the choices for the rest of us? And why are we letting them? Afraid you`ll lose some supporters? Afraid the neighbors will talk? Afraid that you`ll look bad? Yeah, it`s lonely on the truthful side, but not if everyone starts doing what needs to be done. One needs to start worrying about what is true and free and worry less about what the Jones` think.

The American people are at fault here. Show you have a problem with it, don`t just sit and talk about how it sucks. Start a letter-writing campaign, stage a peaceful march, but NOTICE IT and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I`ve gone off topic a bit here, but it`s all true. If you look for it. Yes, keep it up, next we`ll need lisences to become parents, our children will be limited to 1 or 2, and we`ll only be able to go to the bathroom at the hours of 9, 3, and 10. Limits don`t just happen, they start off looking good. Right now it looks good because it`s cigarettes, beer, and junk food. But remember, many of us were right when we said next it will be our food, let`s hope we`re not right again...

Date: 7/20/2002 11:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 53836    nice post...I especially enjoyed your little rant at the end!! You tell it!!~SpaceCase
Date: 7/20/2002 11:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 10722    Last hope libertarians? That's a hoot. LMAO
Date: 7/20/2002 11:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 55376    It's the last hope. I am not an optimist. Can you see any hope in the current two parties? Og
Date: 7/21/2002 3:19:00 AM  From Authorid: 22080    the republican and democratic party is useless and if you want the green party you are nuts i think og is right
Date: 7/21/2002 5:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 47699    Your writing is impeccable and, for what it's worth, I agree with you 100%. Maybe ten years down the road, a post like this would earn us time in prison for questioning the judgement and decisions of the almighty dictators. The world has been and still is going to Hell and everybody knows it. It's a very sad state in which we now find ourselves. Thank you so much for a fine piece of thought provoking reading, my friend.
Date: 7/21/2002 8:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 16671    Your right.
Og, my husband keeps telling me I'm a liberal. I never go by names, just by what my thinking is of the time.

Date: 7/21/2002 10:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 14254    Conservatives are way too much of one thing, and liberals are way too much of another. Can't anyone ever see the middle path? Perhaps the Libertarian party is America's greatest hope, but I'll have to do some research before I can say it is with confidence.
Date: 7/21/2002 10:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 1631    Absolutely. Is it any wonder we have become a nation of whiney dependants?...
Date: 7/21/2002 10:19:00 AM  From Authorid: 1631    And think of USM as a micro-government (although in actuality it is a monarchy, but I'm still going to use it as an example). Have you ever noticed that we are basically divided into two camps here? The "fluffies" (liberals) and the "realists" (conservatives). Now the tone of this site is definitely going to reflect who is in the majority in administration. Need I even SAY who has the upper hand? Suddenly that group has the power and they feel it's their duty to set the standards for the WHOLE, as THEY see fit..as THEY like things to be. Now the minority regulates the whole. And one thing I have noticed for certain - the more we are policed, the whinier and more dependent we become. Is it any wonder kids love it here and the adults bail? ...
Date: 7/21/2002 1:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 55376    Sometimes the adults do not bail, sometimes they are simply kicked out. Og
Date: 7/21/2002 1:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 55255    well where else are we to go?
Date: 7/21/2002 4:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 57452    ~I agreee to some extent with ºFrankenstein.º

Have a quiet Sunday.

Date: 7/21/2002 4:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 17525    The Government is NOT your parent it is YOUR EMPLOYEE! I never gave my employee permission to decide these things for me and i never will. Good Post. Keep 'em coming. Peace,
Date: 7/21/2002 7:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 54987    All political parties are the same - just different names. They pretend to have different policies but they are working together - my turn your turn.... Coolade
Date: 7/21/2002 9:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 55376    Coolade, you are talking about the two parties who are taking turns at winning the political center. You are ignoring other parties with differing viewpoints. Og
Date: 7/21/2002 11:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 54987    Nope! They're all working for the same Agenda...Coolade
Date: 7/22/2002 9:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 55376    Explain how the Green Party, the Socialist Party and the Libertarian Party all have the same agenda? Og
Date: 7/22/2002 2:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 54987    I said they're all working FOR the same agenda. This is an agenda that the ordinary person is not privy to. If the Libertarians get in or the Green Party it's because it's in the Plan... Trouble is that it's extremely unlikely the minority parties will ever get in. The Reps and the Dems are one and the same... sorry an all that... Coolade
Date: 7/22/2002 2:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 55376    The purpose of a third party is not neccesarily to win but to use the election process as a bully pulpit to move the political center in their direction. there are huge differences in the agenda of the alternative parties. The two main parties have to win the political center and/or invigorate their base, therefore the differences are smaller. Og
Date: 7/22/2002 10:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 59248    I HATE YELLING BUT THIS IS STUIPID!! ok, I CONSIDER myself a conservative, but that's pretty much because I think things through about 80 times before I act, and tend to be conservative with my thoughts, but for cripes sake!! All of these parties are in it for themselves, I made one referene to "locking up the food" beforehand, and it gives an idea of people doing useless jobs and getting paid by the american people for them. As my art teacher said when we were putzing around slowly cleaning after class, "ok, let's not make this a friggin' government operation"

The solution is posts like this, showing what power the government has and making us realize that it's silly that we let people do this. Just think of how many people went into enforcing the famous "Caution: hot" warnings on stinkin! McDonald's Cups!! We were paying filthy rich lawyers to fight against Mickey D's, we paid all the clerks and legal assistants involved there, paid for the people to design the actual logo... believe me, marketing people can be crazy like that, and we paid the people to manufacture the new cups and lids, immediately disposing of the old ones in a landfill (did we pay that garbage man) True change requires a complete overhaul, not picking a political party.
Date: 7/22/2002 11:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 54987    Well said GreyMan ... here take a valium and relax... I'm on your side...too... Coolade
Date: 7/23/2002 11:13:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 57718    Would you say a completely government overhaul or a complete people in the government overhaul. I think we have a good government type if we could ever get the right people in there. Someone who is closer to being honest and uses his common sense and not how many votes he maintains. The way I see it, our president is too concerned with how LONG he stays in office, not how WELL he does when he's in there.
Date: 7/23/2002 12:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 54987    That's what you're meant to believe Og.
Date: 7/23/2002 1:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 59248    I'm saying that once people realize that this is happening, everything will fall into place, it doesn't matter who starts knowing, just that if you read the book, (Ishmael, by Daniel Quinn -at least check out www.ishmael.com) Things start to make sense, and BELIEVE ME I hate to read, let alone tell people what to read. As soon as people realize what's happening, the vision will become clearer. take, for example the industrial Revolution (mentioned in another of Quinn's books) it was a vision to have machines do man's work, and inventions started happening, there was no program laid out to have this all come about, there was no political party involved at all, you couldn't vote for the industrialists. Sure you could vote for those who helped the industries, but by then the revolution had happened, and the vision of being able to elect an industrialist just happened. Things will flow naturally once knowledge is introduced into a society. -Contena
Date: 8/20/2002 8:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 54247    Enjoyed you point of view. Actually, I think it is becoming food - i.e., the hamburger facilities now being blasted for causing overweight children! RAT
