I am in a wedding in the middle of August. My good friend from high school is marrying a guy I never met. (They live on the west coast and I, on the east coast.) Problem; I need to produce a meaningful yet cheap gift as I am up to my eyeballs in debt (the bridesmaid dress, the plane tickets, the missed days of work). I thought of painting a picture. I enjoy doing portraits, flowers, slightly offensive things, and watercolor is my medium of choice. But I am stumped. I cannot think of a single thing to paint. I portrait of her seems hokey. Flowers, too generic. She has commented before on a certain piece I did in pointalism but I'd rather create something new just for her and her husband. I thought of painting a version of her wedding invitation but I dunno... I haven't seen here in a year and we have kind of grown apart. She said she collects art now. Any ideas? I'm grasping at straws here! I know this is kind of vague posting but... THE WEDDING IS IN LESS THAN A MONTH!!!

Oh yeah, I looked up her new married name family crest... it's stupid and would look cheesy hanging on a wall. Grrrr, I can't think of anything!!!
Date: 7/19/2002 7:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 5252    or, you could paint a picture of her, and get a picture of the soon to be hubby, and paint it like with them in their stuff for their wedding and them standing side by side or something.
Date: 7/19/2002 7:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 55040    paint a picture of the sun rising over something that represents where they live with a tree in bloom, a symbol of a new marrige (the sun rising) the place they live, and a new beginning (the Tree)--The End
Date: 7/19/2002 7:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 57158    maybe a dove flying freely over a lake as sunset hits it. I dunno, that's what happens when you're broke. ~*Dangerously Tempted*~
