From a state of nothingness
We escape from a time
Where hearts lay bleeding
Dying in front of the eyes
Of those who wished to see
The pain

A state of loneliness
When we wondered for a time
Why we were still here
Why we were left behind
In a cold
Ruthless world

Of wanting and yearning
But never receiving

Why our hearts stopped beating
And the will to live
Retreated to the shadows of
Continually shattered souls

Now we sit back
And watch with amazement
At the evolution of ourselves
The change we bought about in each other

How the echo of loneliness calling
Is now replaced by the sound
Of a heart beating

How the chill of an empty bed
Is now filled with the warmth
Of another soul
Not unlike our own

How the crumbling of a heart
Ceases to exist
For the love of another

Do you feel the change as I do?

The world with walls plastered in darkness
Has opened up and revealed the hues
Of magnificent
Bright colours
To fill these once torn souls

And I thrill in the amazement
Of the transition you have made in me
