Date: 7/12/2002 6:06:00 PM From Authorid: 27046 Well think about it this way...your child is in school with another child with Hepatitis b that is unknown to anyone else. The child falls hurts themselves and spills blood all over the area and your child somehow gets into it....NOW because your child is not vaccinated the risk is greater for them to contract it.....and then mistakenly spread it onto other children through an accident of some sort... |
Date: 7/12/2002 6:08:00 PM From Authorid: 27046 If choose not to vaccinate your children you have that right...but the children in public school also have the right to be protected from high risk disease by making it mandatory that all children be vaccinated. Home schooling is an alternative for the problem... |
Date: 7/12/2002 6:08:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 19342 True...however this is no consolation for those who had perfectly helthy children before the vaccine and now have to endure life with a child with autism. |
Date: 7/12/2002 6:10:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 19342 Also blood tests usually do not take long , and can be done before any child enter school , eliminating the chance for contamination. |

Not all vaccines are bad. Its this specific one that has grasped the public eye , and deserves more studying. |
Date: 7/12/2002 6:14:00 PM From Authorid: 27046 True but then you are talking monthly blood testing on children also. Something can be contracted in a similiar way out of school, by a parent or another relative just as easy as it can be in school. So the child entered and passed the blood test but 3 months later neds up contracted it anyway elsewhere.....No one says that you have to take your healthy child and give them these vaccinations. You have the right to refuse them. If a parent feels strongly enough not to have their child vaccinated then they have the time before they have their children and up until they are school age appropriate to either train or utilize the means for homeschooling... |
Date: 7/12/2002 6:17:00 PM From Authorid: 27046 When you have people all together in a public setting...illness and infections are a problem this is the way that we have come up with to deal with the problem. I understand what you are saying then I also wonder how I would feel if my child was healthy and ended up sick because of something she caught from another student because I didn't vaccinate her, it's the same feeling of worrying whether or not getting the vaccine will be damaging.....its a tough call to make as a parent... |

I have been blessed with a helthy child myself , he had all his vaccinations and had no side effects , but i feel sorry for those who did not know or had the choice to home shool their kids , more research should be done in the field to perhapps find an effective vaccine with lower or no mercury all together. Public education is a right we all should have since we all pay taxes.(most of us , anyway) Hence...the double edge knife...thanks for your reply. |

Date: 7/12/2002 6:38:00 PM From Authorid: 27046 My children were vaccinated also. However the good that these vaccines do outweigh the bad that they can potentially do. Things like the measles and the mumps during outbreaks killed hundreds of people. they are non-existant or almost or are non existant because of these vaccines. I have to think sometimes what it was like for a mother that lost her child to one of these illnesses and was still living when the first vaccine for it was made. It must have killed her to see that if a simple shot was available to her, her child could have lived. Lots of things to look at all the way around the circle... |
Date: 7/12/2002 7:07:00 PM From Authorid: 53806 it was something in the vaccines called thymerisol (sp?) that caused autism now that it's been taken out it's SUPPOSE to be ok...I hope! |
Date: 7/15/2002 10:18:00 PM From Authorid: 45158 well i had to get mine as a requirement for 7th grade and i learned that you can get an exeption for certain circumstances and that they are dead/dilloted/weak form of the disease |
Date: 7/24/2002 8:12:00 PM From Authorid: 277 I find it strange that Hep B is required but Hep A vaccine is not required. We were told by our childrens doctor that hep A can be contracted though eating at fast food restaurants or any restaurant if the people preparing the food do not wash their hands. Then Hep A could be given from eating the food. If a kid has Hep B at school and is not vaccinated what if they pass it to another who has not been vaccinated? ANd the same with Hep A. My kids have been vaccined for both A and B and have had no side effects at all. Also, you have to ask the doctor for the number/percentage of statistics in side effects from the vaccines. That's checking percentages of side effect risks with any vaccine, not just Hep B. The risk percentages of side effects might not even be that high. |
