I don't think people who try to comitt suicide are crazy. My hubby just went through this and he is not crazy at all. Life just seems so unbearable, it seems like the only answer. People who feel this way need all the support and love they can get. If you ever need to talk msg me, please. I know you are not crazy. I am a great listener!!! Gentel Breeze  |

I think suicide is a cry for help. Those that don't hear or listen are ignorant and cruel. I realize some people "cry wolf" a lot but they probably need psychological help not criticisms.   |

Ive tried to commit suicide many times...with no success...Its nothing to do with being crazy. people who say that either have had things hard and lived through it or they had everything handed to them and thinks that everyone is this way...either one is dangerous to an ego and self esteem Kalevi |

Most often people who try to hurt themselves are feeling overwhelmed or desperate or angry or lost and confused. They might be afraid to tell people how they feel thinking that some people will think they are crazy. Maybe they did try talking to someone but nobody really listened. Sometimes people are sick and depressed and they need medication to help them feel good enough to work on finding solutions to their problems. Only a professional can help you determine what might be your case. I would encourage you to call for help. Many phone books have crisis numbers in the front page. Some of these crisi lines are open 24 hours a day. They can be a good way to start looking for the help you need so that you don't try to hurt yourself again - Best wishes in your recovery - Lady lee  |

I feel that suicide is a despicable and cowardly act. The only thing worse than those that commit suicide are those that flaunt the idea around for attention. "But you don't know their problems," "How can you say that? You don't know what they were goin' through." Blah, blah, blah. We ALL have our trials in life. There are millions starving and trying to make it through to the next hour, but they maintain their struggle. Then you have someone who is all sad 'cos one of their friends said something mean to them and another friend stole their bf/gf, etc. etc. Pretty petty in comparison, eh? Call me what you will. I stand strong on this issue. You can shower me with comments and messages saying, "Hey, my (whatever) killed themselves." Whatever. I feel sorry for you, not for them. I can't think of a more selfish and self-absorbed act than suicide. There are other ways of 'crying out' for help. Don't abuse the loyalty of your friends and family by dumping suicide threats on them. This is a negative thing, so expect a negative response. I've talked enough about this subject in the last few days...Gallytuck.  |

I agree with Gallytuck. Suicide is the most selfish act known to man. What gives one the right to take their own life? Do you think that you are special and should not have to endure the probalems that the entire world bares on its shoulders. Suicide is a gutless, cowardly way out. Have you no compassion for your family, if not for yourself. And yes, if you attemot to commit suicide, you have a mental problem. Tere are ways of solving this. To play upon peoples feelings with negativity is not one of the ways! Your life is what you make of it. We have all suffered in one way or an other. There will always be problems in life but they go along wiht the good as well. Seek balance in your mind and in your life. Release that which is torturing you. Stand up as an individual and as a human being. Perhaps you should consult with a doctor. Regardless, don't be a selfish coward. Anyone can die but it takes a real person to live!  |

In no way does it make you crazy or retarded...life is so hard for some, where others it's not, some people have diffrent ways of dealing with lifes "kicks in the ass" some cant deal as others can. But others do suffer when you try something like that,so remember just talk to someone before you try anything again.. Your normal just like the rest of us messed up ppl!!  |

GALLYTUCK Not everyone considers suicide because a b/f left them. I was seriously suicidal for many years. My life was filled with abuse - physical, sexual, emotional, spiritual, just about all of it. Just about every person in my life as a child abused me. By the time I was 12, 9 different men had sexually abused me. I got very little positive attention from my mother. She abused me physically and emotionally. My story is posted in here if you look in my profile. My poems give you a pretty good idea of my life. Sometimes people think about suicide because they think it is the only way to stop the hurting. Fortunately there is a way out. But I know other abuse victims who did not find it. My heart breaks for them. One was my aunt who was 6 weeks older than me. Four of my abusers got to her too. She just could not take it anymore and drowned herself. At 12 years old she could only see a life time of more abuse ahead of her and no one to care whether she lived or died. --- Yes some people think about it for what you might call frivolous reasons. But you have no idea what lurks behind the "my b/f left me" statement. Personally I would never take the chance that it is a cry for attention. Every "cry for attention" need sto be attended too. - Just in case.- Lady Lee |

I said this on another post, suicides are a result of being in the depths of clinical depression. It isn't anyones fault. I can tell you from experience that I was once in the worst phase of a clinical depression, I took meds for it but when the desire to commit suicide was there it was almost like a complusion I really felt like there was no other way but fortunately I got help. I still suffer from depression 20 years off and on, your not crazy I think its more of a chemical imbalance. Look at it like having high blood pressure I guess, it is a real physical thing and just needs to be treated as so.  |

go to the health food store, or drug store, and buy some Pantothinic Acid -- two people that i know, who said they were going to kill themselves, ate it and it changed their lives. when i told one of them to spread the word, he said, "no, i don't want them to feel good, i want them to be at a disadvantage." he was a salesman -- what a scum sucking bottom feeder! but, that is how profoundly it affected them -- try it, sb12 ps: takes about 10 days to feel the effect/  |

I think the ad said it best...SUICIDE IS A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO A TEMPORARY SITUATION!!!! You're not crazy or retarded! Everyone I'm sure has had these feelings of you just don't have the strength to go on, but just remember, there's someone out there who is going to be very badly hurt by your decision. If you have problems that are so bad that it makes you want to take your life, and you can't or don't want to talk to your parents, talk to a teacher that you like or a neighbor that you can trust. From reading some of the stuff here on USM this is the biggest support group I've ever seen!!! I'm sure that you can find SOMEBODY that will help you. Life is precious....you are here for a very important purpose. Don't stop your life before you fulfill that purpose. outlawgirl |
