Thank you, People OF USM, for being there this week ............... MonkeyLuvr

This week has been one of the most horrendous weeks I have ever gone through. I never knew the extent of my faith until this week, when my brother lay in ICU with a brain injury. I never knew that God would hold us up and sustain our strength the way He did. When I contemplated a member of my family, my brother, laying on the edge of death, I could not find the strength to keep from collapsing then and there.. until I turned to God for that strength. God kept us as a family and kept us strong. We are still waiting and hoping and praying that my brother, Craig, comes out of this the man he was before.

Updated on his condition, he did finally eat this morning, 4 days after his injury. He still has bad headaches, which is why the doctors are taking another CAT scan and he will be having x-rays of his lungs because he is coughing up blood. We do not at this time even have a tentative release date from the hospital.

There are a few people who have gone above and beyond on USM to help this family with prayers and support. I'd like to give a thank you to EVERYONE who answered the prayer posts and prayed for him. I and my Mom, MammaMonkey would also like to give a few individual thank you's to a few people who actually went so far above the call of friendship and comforted me and my mom through this.

ICUNurse-- Part of this whole thing was the not knowing. Not knowing what was going on or why. You with your knowlegde and the big heart to share what you knew kept us sane many times. My mother and I thank you so much for the many messages and help you gave us in deciphering the medical speak that we knew nothing about. Your information gave us hope, comfort, and lessened the mystery a lot. I don't know if I would have made it through all of this had I not known at least a little bit about what was going on, and through you, we did. I cannot thank you enough, nor can my mom, for comforting us and sharing what you knew. You are one special lady, and I can say with complete sincerity that I wish that you were my brother's nurse.

BCAR-- I know I would never have made it without your support. You all ready know how I feel about almost losing a brother, I cannot contemplate that. In every way that counts, you are a brother to me. You will never know just how much you did for me when you helped me through this. Because I view you as an older brother, and I look up to you for advice and comfort, I was able to feel a brother's love while Craig was laying there and I wasn't able to feel his love. You make me realize that it isn't always blood that inspires a brother's love. More than anything else, I needed to feel a brother's love this past week, and you provided that. I cannot ever repay you for the kindness you've show this past week.

Tarheel Girl-- Thank you for being there for my mom and me. My mom considers you so special she has adopted you and you really came through for her this week. She has told me all through the week that you comforted her with your words. Thank you for giving of your heart to my mom, especially when she needed it so much. You are a special lady, and I thank you with all my heart for being here for my mom.

St. Pete-- With your faith and help in renewing and upholding my faith, I overcame any doubts that God wasn't watching over this family. I know that my faith did lag a bit during this week, but your message reminding me to keep faith and that God was watching over us helped so much. At times, God works through people to remind us of what is important, and I believe that you were blessed with Him working through you this week, because God knew that more than anyone, coming from you, with your faith and upholding that faith, you would help my family and I to keep our faith in the difficult time. So I thank you mostly for helping me keep my faith, but also for the friendship and love you offered this week. Without the support of you and the others here I'm thanking, I would have been climbing a wall.

Kethria-- Your friendship means more to me than you'll ever know. You helped sustain my well being with your offer of love and hugs any time. I knew that you'd always be there for me, but I never knew just how a friend could come through in such a time. There are many types of friends, Kethria, and you are gold. Your caring for my brother, who you've never even talked to, just because he is my brother, helped me so much because it showed just how much you care about me and our friendship. I will never be able to repay the debt I owe you for that. I love you, Kethria, Kethria and MonkeyLuvr, friends forever!!!

King Caspian-- What can I say? You, as always, comforted me with a father's love. You are like a great teddy bear, always willing to give hugs and a shoulder. You offer comfort, advice, an ear... Your fatherly attitude really does get us through when the times are difficult, because of your wisdom, understanding, and love, you are a person to be cherished. I thank you for being there for me this week, which is something that means more to me than I could ever say. As a second father, King Caspian, you are my angel!!! Thank you for being here for me!!! I love you!!

LadyLuck-- As with King Caspian, you are a second mother to me, and all that in King's thank you is for you, too. How can I say thank you for being here for me, and for my mom? Sometimes, what we need the most is a pair of caring arms and you offered them and so much more. Thank you for being the special lady you are!!! I love you!!!

Absz-- My friend, my confidante, my partner in crime, and my wifey... lol... Without your caring, your zany love, I doubt I could have actually smiled this week. You got so much going for you, at your age, that you all ready have so much compassion for others, so much heart. You made me smile when I thought nothing would. I hope you know, Absz, that one day, one day, I will meet you. Absz and MonkeyLuvr, friends forever!!!

DMK-- I don't know what went on between you and my Mom, but I know she asked me to thank you for messaging her and helping her through. She says that she thanks you for taking the time to answer and message her with your kind words.
