It's written in the Bible that you are not to consult mediums, psychics, sorcerors, witches, etc. Besides when you can ask God directly, why go to something not as powerful for answers?  |

GOD was the one who gave them that gift to be a messenger.  |

God didn't nescessarily give them that "gift." Satan and his fallen angels can influence people too. I would do my best to ignore them, or pray to God for help and guidance. Remember the Bible is directly against that in several passages, both in the OT and the NT. |

so i would pray to GOD and ignore myself? i already pray to GOD, and i have a very good relationship with him, thank you very much.=)I honestly believe that the "evil doer" didnt influence me. in the bible, it even states how people had premonitions....so whose to say. |

Author, there is NOTHING WRONG with meditating or looking into the paranormal. I have been doing all these things for 35 years and NEVER have I came in contact with any Satan or fallen angels. I have seen Jesus and God's angels , but never anything evil! If it is so wrong to contact those in the other world, why did so many of the Bible characters do it? Even Jesus communicated with them!! There is nothing at all wrong with seeking after the things of God. How do we contact God? Why through the mind , of course, exactly like we meditate or seek information from those on the other side! Every time we send a prayer to God, we are communicating with someone who is not of this world! So if we can talk to God, why would we be forbidden to speak with anyone else? We wouldn't! I believe that all the scripture in the Bible that says we should not do these things were added to the Bible by man! In the early churches these things were forbidden so that the people would have to come to the priests for their information, and so keep the coffers filled.......thus assuring the priests of a steady income! If the people had been allowed to continue this practice and could seek out those who were able to speak to the other side, this would have eroded the power of the priests and diminished their authority considerably! This is my belief for why the church wants people to stay away from these things. God spoke to people in the early times and He continues to do so today!! God has given us laws that govern this practice just as we have laws for everything else ! Learn them and you will find there is nothing at all to worry about. Those who get into trouble are those who do not understand these laws or those who go into this with less than a spiritual attitude ! Posey  |
