I sat alone and watched the day turn to night
Just another day without you in my life
What could it have been, where did it go wrong
It seems like its been an eternity since you've gone

I still wake each morning expecting to see your face
Instead all I get is an empty, cold place
The place where you used to lie your pretty head
Now it lays empty, quiet, cold, and almost dead

I guess that's what I get for missing the clues
The silent nights side by side; the even rarer "I love you's"
I should have seen it coming, but how could I have known
You held everything inside, said you'd take care of it on your own

Now here it is a whole year later and my life isn't the same
You took everything I worked for and even changed your name
I still think about the things we used to do
I can't do them anymore, they remind me too much of you

Looking down at my watch, I see I've survived another day
This is my life now; I guess it has to be this way
I'll try my best to see each day through
But they sure are harder without you.
