Date: 6/26/2002 4:48:00 PM From Authorid: 23610 Well, it certainly is hard to go against the grain and suffer the anger and persecution of those who would judge or misunderstand you. I admire a person who knows who they are and what they believe and can stand up for themself. It sounds like you've seen more than one side of the coin and have made a decision based on your own mind, thoughts, and experiences. |

im a christian but i do respect other religions.i mean im not considering becoming athiast or anything but there is NO way to prove any religion wrong at all.somehow every religion could be right(not a very good chance though).some religions might be right and some not.there could be hundreds of gods you can pick your religion.its not right to judje people cuz of there religion.ill admit my religion could be wrong.its your choice and i respect that you chose what you believed in not what people told you to believ in....... system44 |

Date: 6/26/2002 5:23:00 PM From Authorid: 24924 Applause! Very good post. Thank you. I was deeply involved in Christianity for over years, and I know very well what you are talking about. Most Christians (NOT ALL!) haven't a clue what Atheism is; and furthermore, don't want to know; and treat me like I have AIDS or some other horrid communicable disease. Most of the ignorance comes from being taught by parents and preachers in the pulpits and then it is passed on to the children, then they pass it on to their children, and thus the ignorance and lies continues. But then the whole of Christianity was built on myths, superstitions, and falsehoods of all kinds. Hooray for you, Liz. Thanks for speaking out. |
Date: 6/26/2002 5:35:00 PM From Authorid: 820 I too am an Atheist. My family casts me out because of it. But I stay loyal to my beliefs despite how badly I am ridiculed. Great post, Liz! |
Date: 6/26/2002 5:59:00 PM From Authorid: 32659 *Applauses for Liz and Thinker* very good post. Some (<--- not all) Christians just don't get it. |
Date: 6/26/2002 6:07:00 PM From Authorid: 46515 OK, thats your right. I am not spiritually responsible for someone past a certain point. You need to believe how you want. Me? I'll believe like I want. |

thinker i already said no religion can be proved wrong no religion can be proved right you choos what you want to be you cant say any religion is wrong |
Date: 6/26/2002 8:02:00 PM From Authorid: 48525 I agree with both Liz and Thinker. I also have to say that you are not responsible for anyone spiritually but yourself, Tiger Monkey. Your religion tells you to bear witness, but not everyone shares your views. You choose to take on that responsibility. |
Date: 6/26/2002 9:00:00 PM From Authorid: 39887 Sorry I believe in the end, you will wish you had believed. What will you say to God on judgement day? |
Date: 6/26/2002 11:05:00 PM From Authorid: 32659 Busy, just try to think, what IF there is no God? I'm not saying "there definitely, 100%, beyond a shadow of a doubt know that there is no God" because I don't know for sure. But WHAT IF there isn't one? And System, I'm sorry for saying that, but it wasn't really directed at you. You said yourself you respect other religions, so you're okay in my book. |
