I hated it .... I think that even if it was such a long movie to produce why dothree parts three hours long? Why can't they just compress it? It was too long, too boring and to ughh ..... i hated watching it, and it was the worst movie i've ever seen ......**pEaCe*  |

Not seen the movie yet, but the book, including The Hobbit before it, is one of the best trilogies I have ever read. Compress it? I am amazed that it was possible to cram it into a 3 hour movie.  |

no they did the first book in three hours there still making the two other books with another two movies, meaning alltogether it will be a nine hour movie .... |

Ya I know that ILC, each one of the trilogy is a long read and I am amazed that one part of the film (one book) was compressed into a three hour movie. |

Don't read this post if you don't like spoilers: ................................................. They left TONS of stuff from the book out of the movie. If they added everything from the 1st book, the 1st movie would have been 10 hours long. But it's one of my fave books and movies. I just wish they wouldn't have left Tom Bombadil and Glorfindel out.  ~Avar Merithien |

OK I read the title wrong I swear to me it said Lord of the Flies I was all set to say yeah I saw both versions LMBO. I must not be fully awake yet but I like to think what it would be like in these kind of movies, I used to pretend when I was little that I was in the movie the neverending story I have not seen Lord Of the Rings yet.  |

Compress it?! Are you Insane? You want a quick dammed fix go rent a blood and guts flick. They tried to make the movie as close and as faithful to the books as possible while keeping the length realistic and I applaud them for that. Titanic was tripe, especially compared to this. I *HATE* movies that are "ooohhh look at me, I'm based on the book woooohhh" I go see it and there is so much missing and so much bull that was never there added, that it may as well be called "Spank My Ass 'Cause He's A Donkey" than "Jurassic Park 2"  |

I love it I think Peter Jackson has done an excellent job of bring Tolkien's world to the silver screen and the casting is perfect And I want to live in middle earth or something close to it especially if I can share that place with Strider/Aragorn/ Viggo  |
