Hmmm. This may not be too girly but my friend made a curtain rod out of a bamboo fishing pole. Also, you could go somewhere and pick some nice flowers...put them in a book to dry and flatten for a few days...then cover your ceiling fan (if there's one) and a wall out of them. You could make a picture of a flower out of flowers. lol. I am not the best decorator. Good Luck! |

You can paint your room your favorite color and then on one side of the wall you can paint your favorite animal and on the other side you can paint flowers and ladybugs! ~~BlueBear~~ |

Hiya, LittleJung! If you already have picture frames, you can sponge paint them. It looks really pretty and you don't see people doing it too often. ~Charisma K.~ |

There are lots of suggestions if you are on a budget, but want some pretty stuff in your room. When I was a kid, we didn't have a lot of money, so I would find great pictures in magazines or newspapers. Cut them out and make my own frames to go around them. Take a cardboard box or even a cereal box for small pictures. Cut the frame size you want to surround your picture, and paint it yourself. Decorate with stickers, markers, or paint. The neat thing about these kind of frames, is that you can make them any size and shape to surround your magazine or newspaper print. You can have a round frame around the outside, and cut triangular for a triangle print. Or maybe a rectangle shape with a round cut out in the middle for a round print. Not to mention that these are so light to hang on your walls, or lean against the wall on top of your dresser. Let your imagination go wild. Hang a cluster of 3, 5, or 7 prints, cuz odd numbers create interest ... and have fun !!! |

CoRy AnN's suggestion also works to cover the cardboard frames. Just tear strips of brown paper bags or aluminium foil and wrap the frame. Glue on the back, and you will have a unique piece of art to hang your piece of art. Try painting or drawing your own picture to go in the frames. That way you will grow as an artist. |

Have you ever watched Trading Spaces on TLC?? It is a great show and they have plenty of ideas of ways to liven up any room in you house on a budget. They redecorate an entire room for under $1,000. I know you may not have $1,000 but you can get a lot of ideas. BabyCry |

I didn't have a lot of money to decorate my room either, so I bought a bunch of glow in the dark stars it costed me $10 then I bought a really pretty blue and maroon paint that cost me about $15 and I painted the stars different colors and stuck them on my wall for a border around the top of my room. The left over you could always use for decorating frames and stuff or if you like a picture you could always put it on your wall and have the stars around it. Another thing I do, since I don't have a whole lot of money is I take my favorite photos of my friends or things I have taken pictures of and I have it going around one of my walls. I don't know if you have the kind of room that would look good doing that, but my room is literally the size of a walk in closet so its not a very big wall there is like wood on the bottom half for some reason. |

Well, I've always likes the ocean. When I was younger, I hung up a huge fish net from the ceiling and put shells, starfish, floats and stuff in it. it was so cool to lay in bed and look at all the stuff. But, that was in the sixties, probably out of stile by now... |

You can make Picture frames out of cool looking twigs you find outside. You can even use popsicle sticks stacked like a log cabin in different designs. You can use a wall of your room as a giant canvas to paint just about anything you want into a collage.. if you can't paint cut up old magazines and newspapers and your friends pics to make a collage. |

foam core is a very useful product to have around... it's a piece of foam sandwiched between 2 pieces of posterboard... and is cheap (about $2.99 per posterboard sized sheet). You can use it to cut out shapes (flowers, ladybugs, animals...whatever)... you could cover the shapes with paper mache, an air-drying clay (which you could also make yourself), or just paint... you can also use it as a canvas or mounting board to create some string art (just glue string or rope over a drawn on design). another really easy and inexpensive way to make art is to invest in a little bit of modeling clay (I like sculptey) and some plaster of paris. Roll out the modeling clay into a slab about 1/2" thick. Find interesting textures and shaped objects to press into the clay.(flowers and leaves work pretty good if they have a strong vein pattern, jewelry, Take a narrow rope of clay and build a "wall" around the imprinted designs. (this is your mold.) Spray a little pam or other cooking spray into your mold to help the plaster release later. Mix plaster of paris according to instructions on package and pour into the mold. Allow it to harden slightly and stick 2 small "u" shaped pieces of wire or paper clips into the plaster. (these will be your hangers.) Allow it to harden for about an hour and remove it from the mold. It will take anywhere from 3-7 days for the plaster to finish curing before you can decorate it. (you'll know it's ready when it doesn't feel cold.) The possiblities are endless! Have fun! |

get lots of roses of all colors and dry them out... then when you have enough what I've seen that looks really cool is getting a string or something and tying up your dried roses on it so you've got this real rose chain.. kind of hard to explain but it looks awesome and flowery. |

You could also just get a couple vases and put dried roses in them too... you probably don't need to have a whole chain but it also makes a room look friendlier and more inviting. |

lol and I thought of something else... what about like a pale violet paint? I think paint on the wall really adds sooo much to a room. It makes a room look ten times more cozy and that color would match your spring theme. It would help a LOT if that's doable. Paint is cheap but it's a lot of work. |

Go to garage sale's. There is always something there. Or do something like what I did get like a pink or blue or any color you want type of sheet that is sorta see through and drape it off your ceiling. Change the light bulb in your lamp to a cool color and while at the Garage sales look for lamps and then put a whole bunch of diffrent colors in them. After a while it might make you dizzy but it is so cool if you do it right. You can also find glow in the dark stars for pretty cheep and put those on you celling it looks cool at night. Then with time when you get some more money you can paint your room a real cool color and that will make it prettyer. Just some Ideas. Befor I got rid of all sorts of that kind of stuff in my room I payed under like 75 dollars. |
