Date: 6/15/2002 11:42:00 PM From Authorid: 46266 I'm not sure what you mean, but here goes: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." - Matthew 28:19. "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38. "Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days." - Acts 10:47-48. "And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard. And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." - Acts 22:14-16. |

Date: 6/17/2002 5:10:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53850 ok here are the 4 great commission, # 1 matt 28;19;20 # 2 mark 16;15;16 # 3 luke 24.;44 thr 49 4 Acts 2;14 |
Date: 6/18/2002 2:40:00 AM From Authorid: 24934 #53850, your number 4 answer (Acts 2:14) I believe is a mistake. Unless you mean it to be Acts 2:14-40. John 3:5 would be closer to being part of the great commission. Notice how Matt 28, Mark 16 and Luke 24 are all commanded by Jesus. Acts 2:38 is a fullfilment of Luke 24:47 "And repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning in Jerusalem." Peter, on pentecost, in Jerusalem,(standing with the eleven) boldly preached, "repent and be baptized for the remission of sins..." Do you see how Luke 24 and Acts 2:38 come together perfectly? On another point (not a debate) Jesus was given all authority in heaven and on earth, therefore He commanded that all be baptized into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. When the Apostles baptized they did so by the authority Jesus gave them, therefore baptizing everyone in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, when Acts 2:38 and other passages say "in the name of Jesus" they remembered how Jesus told them he has all authority, and that they were to go out and baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. They accomplished this everytime a person was baptized, "in the name" literaly refers to the authority Jesus has. Nikeinlogos |

the 4 great comission is in Acts 2;14--in Acts 2;14 that where peter standing with the 11 apostles. this is where great commission started in Jerusalem, remember Jesus give peter the keys in matt;16;19 to open the door to all nation, and that when he started preaching right there in acts 2;14 thr 37 and 38,, john 3;5 is where jesus is explaining how to enter the kingdom, of heaven to Nicodemus, the keys is water and the spirit? so Peter took that keys open the door and started preaching salvation in christ name there? in Acts 2;14 thr 37 -38 -40 there were 2 keys that peter open the door to, some say 1 keys, but the other keys was for the gentiles, from seeActs 2;38 |

Date: 6/19/2002 3:15:00 AM From Authorid: 24934 Dean here are the "keys of the kingdom" (1). Hear, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (2), Belive, Believe that Jesus is the Son of God. (3) Repentance, Acts 2:38, (4) confess, confess with the mouth Jesus is the Son of God (and) he will confess us before the Father. (5) Baptism. When Peter preached on Pentecost these "keys" were preached and the doors of the kingdom (church) were opened, 3000 responded. All keys are needed if one is to be saved. Nikeinlogos |
