I don't know if it is an official rule, the impression that I got from it was: if one is religious, they won't be accepted socially into mensa. Oh well, I'm off to go check out the website and see if I can find anything useful. Thanks for your help. ~Charisma K.~ |

I passed the entrance exam, but did not join because I could see no point, it is mostly just a meeting of people patting themselves on the back, I can manage without that level of self gratification. As for religion, I was not asked about it, but I live in the uk, don't know if that make a difference to it. PS, like you I took the exams due to peer pressure. |

If you don't mind me asking, where did you take your test? I know the real test is about 2 hours long...unlike the phony ones online where everyone ends up a genius... |

My friend has a book called Self-Scoring IQ Test by Victor Serebriakoff (sp?), if I'm not mistaken he's the president of MENSA. It's a really long test and there are practice tests in there, too. There's a lot of parts to it and they're all like 30 minutes long. ~Charisma K.~ |

I think it's a joke. MENSA...lol. What exactly are they trying to say? "Oh, I have an IQ that is astronomically larger than yours, Gallytuck, you feeble-minded serf..." Awright. While you're at it why don't you change the distributor on the car? Hey, come and help me fix my guitar amplifier. And then we can program the VCR. Would you like to design my website for me? After that you can bake me a cake. What? You can't do that? Why not? You're a genius!!! Obviously someone of your intellect could handle such simple, for-the-average-mind tasks. LMBO. I feel that MENSA is just a last-resort social club for those who "don't play well with other kids". Maybe the condensating attitude has something to do with the fact that "normal" people don't want to associate with them. So they may be geniuses, and can figure out number patterns and have a great sense of logic, but I can meet and maintain friendships with people, have a practical sensibility, and I can bake a cake...LOL. Take care and I don't see why ANYONE would want to join that organization...Gallytuck. |

I had that book when I was about 22. I took it and scored 140. But I always wondered if taking the practice test gave me an advantage, because when tested in high school and then when I was 23 I came out a 120 both times. Those tests are given by someone else timing you and scoring you, and there is no practice run. But hey, maybe I'm higher like the book says....? |

When I was younger I took an IQ test in school and scored a 168 I think...it was really long actually I had to take 2 tests. The tests I have taken online I usually score between 125 and 160. I do not really think they are reliable. If you are really interested in it though go for it. I think there may be an age requirement although I am not sure about that. You should be able to find lots of info online though....good luck!!! |
