...Start As You Mean To Go On......Agent Smith

Yo Peeps,

I woke to another wet and windy Wellington morning here in New Zealand. Straight away I'm like "Oh darn...what a horrid day". Then it occurs to me, my very first thought for that day was a negative one. Hmmm I says to myself...if we start our day on a negative note then does that not only start us in a lower mood, or a lower focus, and so make it harder for us to lift ourselves up during the day? I would say it does.

So why not start each day with a positive thought? Granted...when life is hard, or we are burdened with worries, then a positive thought first thing in the morning can become a very hard thing to achieve...in fact for some of us our first thought is "COFFEE! NOW!!". But why not make it something positive. To this end, I would suggest this:

1. Take a piece of paper and a pen.

2. On this piece of paper write this question "One thing I am thankful for is:?"

3. Put this somewhere prominent. Somewhere like on your bedside table...or tape it to the roof above your bed...anywhere that you will see it first thing in the morning when you open your eyes.

Then...when you read it your mind will straight away be faced with the question "What is one thing I am thankful for?" Think of one thing. There is your positive start. It doesn't have to be anything wonderful...for some it might only be "I'm thankful I woke up alive":)

The important thing is that your first real conscious thought is focussed on what you are THANKFUL for in your life...not what you lack, or what you want, or how miserable you feel or how bad the weather. And this question...sitting there in front of you...every morning...will be a prompt for your mind.

Start as you mean to go on.

Its about creating a 'habit' in how we think. If we create a habit of positive thought first thing in the morning then I suspect positive change will come about. Why not give it a go...I mean, what have you got to lose? Only your negativity...and who needs that right?

Peace and Hugs, AGENT SMITH

How it changed my life:

Dunno...ask me in a month...LOL!

I admit, I think I need to do that more too. Just look at people in other countries, they don't even have running water! And here we are complaining about a cell phone and a car and blah blah blah...Again, great post
