In the End

Why did it have to end this way?
Why did it have to be today?
I thought things were going great,
But i guess you arent my soul mate.
Ive felt this way before,
And it was easy to ignore.
But now its not the same.
Now i feel twice as lame.
Things were starting to look good,
But they came crashing down and there i stood.
Now I stand here all alone
Wondering why i should go home.
Everything i lived for is gone
But i know i have to go on.
And when everything is said and done,
I know ill be better off in the long run.
