My husband and I recently had the pleasure of watching this movie...it was GREAT! I must admit after hearing it was about a man and this seven foot tall rabbit, I didn't want to see it. I expected another stupid B rate horror film. But we checked out the website (which is really cool by the way) and decided to watch it. That movie was so well thought out and really makes ya think! |

I have no idea where to start with this movie.. After seeing it (and the ending), it's just about as confusing as Memento. Especially when you try to figure out their theories of time, and if it's "right" to interrupt it. Excellent, excellent movie. |

I personally think I understand the movie but only because it's one of those where you have to follow it closely and the director's commentary on the DVD verfies most of what I got out of it and helped with some of the other things I was confused about.... |

I got the movie up until the end, the last two minutes are what screwed me up. I am a smart guy (and a movie fanatic) so I am usualy explaining movies to people, wondering what the difficulty was. So I must admit I am a bit embarissed because the ending made little sense to me. I got the feeling it was supposed to be deep and revealing, I just found it odd and a bit contradictory. Maybe I am wrong though, what is your take on the movies ending. |

Well what did you get confused about - I think I basically have the ending down but i'm not sure... |

Ok, I know it was supposed to be deep and revealing that the engine that fell off the plane was the plane donnies mother was in, but that engine killing Donnie seemed pointless to me, and what did it have to do with Frank, except the fact that if Donnie was dead, he could not shoot Frank. |

And if killing Donnie to save Frank wasthe point, why didn't Frank leave Donnie there the FIRST time the engine fell. |

Well, everything that happened after the first title card - where Donnie first wakes up to Frank's voice all took place in a tangent universe I guess you could say. That's why when Donnie wakes up at the end he's in bed once again and rather than get up (now that he knows what will happen if he lives) he stays in bed. Now that he died: Frank won't get shot, Gretchen will not get hit by a car, Mrs. Pomeroy will keep her job, etc etc....everything will change. |

But why did Frank go back, what opened the time warp, and why did Frank get him out of bed in the first place? |

Also, why would a time warp open above Donnies house to drop an engine on him? |

Frank's first visit and everything after was nothing but a vision showing Donnie what would happen if for some reason he were not to die - it's like an alternate reality - in this reality he gets out of bed yet in our reality he doesn't. And the whole worm hole theory - a rift in time will occur whenever and wherever - it just happened. I know my theory is probably full of holes as well - but it's one of those movies that there really aren't many answers for. |

Yeah, get the theory, but I do think it is full of holes. No offense, it is more than I came up with. But one of the major problems with it is that all those things happened because of Franks influence. Every event that occured was influenced by Frank being there. That vision only showed what would happen if Frank were telling Donnie what to do. The world may have been an ok place had Donnie lived, but Frank stayed out of it. Also, in order for Donnies Mom to be on that plane, Donnie would have to live. There is also the fact that the FAA had the serial numbers of that engine, I think they would have grounded that plane until it was solved, so it never would have flown, and if it never flew, the engine could never fall, and if the engine never fell, they would never have gounded the plane, so it would have flown, and the engine could fall. A paradox. |

Actually they didn't have the serial number - Mr. Darko makes a reference to the fact about a serial number needed being burned off. |

Oh, well the web site makes reference to the serial numbers on the parts having been retreived. |

I think the movie, after Frank wakes Donnie up the first time, is Frank showing Donnie what everyones life would have been like if he lived. And, if you've seen the movie, you know things weren't so great. So ultimately, to save his mom and girlfriend, he sacrificed himself, because he knows that everyones life will be better without him. |
