Wow, your sister is my age, I'll be 24 in September. Your sister and your family are in my deepest thoughts and prayers. My son had sorta the same thing like your sister. He was born 12 weeks premature and he had lung problems that kept him in the hospital 2 1/2 months before he could come home from the hospital. Right after he got out, one of his doctor's wanted him to undergo a CAT scan. After the CAT scan, it was revealed that his brain is smaller then usual and that there's fluid on his brain. They monitored everything to make sure he was ok, like going to the doctors all the time. Then last year, his neurologist ordered a MRI cuz they thought he was autistic. They diagnosed my son with PVL. Its a disorder of the white matter of the ventricles of the brain. He'll have it for the rest of his life and he's delayed him developmentally, and they don't know how long it will take to get him where he needs to be physically and mentally. I want to let you know there's hope out there for your sister. You gotta have hope and pray. Your thoughts and prayers are with me. HayKory22  |
