Date: 5/20/2002 11:24:00 PM From Authorid: 16950 I am intrigued by this too, but I have no explanations or even any hypotheses as to what is going on here. It snowed here where i live this morning & it stuck too! LOL It didn't snow too long & the snow on the ground wasn't around long either but that seems VERY strange to me! Oh by the way I live in the Northern California/Southern Oregon area. Good question! Hopefully someone will have some info as to why this is happening. Take good care & Bless you! Love & hugs, |
Date: 5/20/2002 11:26:00 PM From Authorid: 21266 strange? i think it's cool way cool .......hehe |
Date: 5/20/2002 11:49:00 PM From Authorid: 50435 I don't have an explanation. Sorry. But what I can tell you is that when I was a wee'un rain didn't taste like anything. Now I dread getting water in my mouth because of the intense alkaline taste. Explain that, eh? lol. Ahhh, the benefits of NAFTA...lol. Take care and the times are a changin'...Gallytuck. |

I dunno there saying it's Menudo again..or is that El Nino.... I live in Indiana and we have some pretty brutal winters, but we had two major snowstorms this winter, not to mention 5 tornadoes touching down in the fall one of which was an F5,it's now summer and the temp is 30 degrees and there is a frost advisory..... Beats me whats going on..but I like the cool weather anyway.... |
Date: 5/21/2002 12:10:00 AM From Authorid: 52563 Ok..I know the answer! It's those purple monkies messing with the weather thingys way up in the sky! They want you to be detracted so they can take over the earth...I've seen them... |
Date: 5/21/2002 12:18:00 AM From Authorid: 7830 The weather defenitly is weird. All I know is that mother nature goes through cycles, and has a way of cleaning herself off when need-be. This planet is very dirty now and she may be getting ready to take a nice cleansing bath. |
Date: 5/21/2002 1:46:00 AM From Authorid: 42539 all i know is it is like 45 rght now in bama and that is way too cold |
Date: 5/21/2002 2:01:00 AM From Authorid: 15157 I dunno the other day here in Texas we had a cold front after a big rain!...and today we had the a/c on for a while!...It is cold in the mornings here and hot by late evening...It brings illnesses on like crazy...allergies and sinus problems. Maybe its La Nina...the opposite of El Nino. |
Date: 5/21/2002 4:36:00 AM From Authorid: 18527 A month ago it was 95 degrees, this morning I awoke to find it 37 degrees, and days away from june! |
Date: 5/21/2002 5:47:00 AM From Authorid: 22852 I do not know what is going on other that here in North Carolina we have had the weirdest weather ever. We went down into the 30's sunday night and last night and that is not normal. We had a total of one inch of snow all winter also not normal. Big Hugs |
Date: 5/21/2002 9:02:00 AM From Authorid: 54196 Listen, with your countless eons of existance on earth, I know you've studied the intricate weather patterns of the world extensively, but don't you think the world is going to go on doing just fine no matter what we do? |
Date: 5/21/2002 10:47:00 AM From Authorid: 15228 54196 is right..global warming is junk science, When I was in school (way back when), all the talk was about a new ice age. We read about it in our weekly readers. Flash forward 20 years and we are told that soon we all will be living in a tropical paradise. HOW can we affect that much of a change in 20 Years?? The answer is, we can't. |
Date: 5/21/2002 11:00:00 AM From Authorid: 43250 You are right they have been keeping records for 100 years, but how long as the earth been here? And this talk about global warming. Here is something to think about. Take one of the Earth's ice ages, what caused it? And what caused the Earth to warm back up? There sure weren't no cars around to warm things up way back then! I think it might be two things, one the sun is a big ball of fire basically right, ok well if you have a fire some spots are going to be hotter then others right. So maybe the sun is getting warmer. Also maybe the Earth's orbit of the sun is not a peferect circle, maybe every now and then we get just a little closer and the temp goes up, and then we get a little farther away and the temp goes down. No one really knows. MI23 |
Date: 5/21/2002 12:17:00 PM From Authorid: 4144 east tennessee had frost on the ground this morning. weather dude said that has never happened this late in may before. on may 1st. we had a hail storm. tore up my house and trashed my daughter's car. it was the size of golf balls and bigger. i don't know about the government having anything to do with it but i do know the insurance companys don't!! they have had to hand out checks around he left and right! there are 4 men on my roof right now replacing the whole thing and there are 2 men in my den replacing everything cause it flooded. that's why i'm home today playing with my computer instead of at work! |
Date: 5/21/2002 12:26:00 PM From Authorid: 11240 I'll weigh in with those that say no one can predict the weather. No, I don't think it is being manipulated by any government. I just think we see a lot more (due to national news stations that have to fill up their air time with something) of what is going on around the country/world. Windstorms (with 70 MPH wind) in Nevada are not new. Snow in May is not new (I remember snow May 5 in Nevada when I was a teen). BTW, Menudo is tripe soup, and I don't think it can affect the weather, though it may affect "whether" anyone wants to be around you. God Bless. |
Date: 5/21/2002 1:28:00 PM From Authorid: 160 I live in central Fl. and was surprised this morning to wake up to winter... Hoorrayyy! But not for long I am sure as summer will hit with a vengence. When I moved here in 1995, I remember the winter was brutal and extremely cold many days it was below freezing. I do see a change in the weather and am wondering what the heck is going on. But we have not been keeping records long enough to see a pattern. So this may be within the norm. It is a welcome change because it has been hot down in my neck of the woods. |
Date: 5/21/2002 1:43:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15070 I understand PamyJo- Our last few summers have been brutal. I must admit, I am enjoying the cooler weather |

The weather has been strange ill say too...its nice though and im enjoying it...i figure since earth has been around for many, many, many years, the temperature changing/varying is just part of its natural cycle i suppose...i dont think we can do too much to make a difference. *~ChicaBella~* |
Date: 5/22/2002 7:38:00 AM From Authorid: 160 It snowed in parts of OHIO. The camera showed snow falling on spring flowers, how confused those plants must be. This happened a few years ago when my Dogwood was in full bllom and the weather dipped nearly to freezing. It stunned my plant, but later recovered to bloom again. |
