~*The Best Argument Yet For The Death Penalty> Florida In The News AGAIN!!!*~

Florida has made the news again. And it is the death of a youth. But, this story is different. And one that will strike at the heart of every teen, every parent, and every caring human being.

Next week, and 18 year old young man, should be walking-up the isle for his diploma. Instead, his family will be carrying his casket to his gravesite. And, you know what.....he was an innocent victim. In the wrong place, at the wrong time.

Some youth, in one of our sleepy-small Florida towns, hang around the parking lot of the local Shake-N-Steak, which is a twenty-four hour place. A group of kids, yells at other kids in a car, and one thing leads to another. This young man, sitting alone on his car, and observer, in the wrong place, at the wrong time, was struck in the side of the head. He was not involved in any of the preceeding fighting. He was struck SO hard he stopped breathing. From a blow, to the side of the head. Yesterday, he was in "very critical condition". Today, he slipped away. My heart breaks for his family. He did nothing, NOTHING, to warrant this attack. Now, what kind of animal hits someone so hard in the head, the person stops breathing......?

You know what? I don't care if the assailant is 13, 18, or 22-years old. I don't care what color his skin is. I don't care if he was drunk, stoned, or sober. I don't care if he was physically, or sexually abused.

Put him in "Ol' Sparky" & throw the switch. No years, and years of trials, appeals, blah.....blah....there is a young man, who will never marry. Never Father Children, never grow old. He was on the very cusp of Adulthood, robbed by a senseless act.

Fry 'em, Inject Them with Deadly Chemicals......I don't care! BUT DO IT!!!

Yes, I really feel that vendictive.....

Date: 5/20/2002 8:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 10534    Aww that's sad...Poor guy. I agree with you, DO IT!
Date: 5/20/2002 8:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 53659    i think the problem with the world today is that there isn't in some cases a stiff enough punishment i see so many people get away with a slap on the wrist it makes me angry
Date: 5/20/2002 8:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 3321    I do not feel the same way, nor has this pushed me to side in any manner with the Death Penalty.
Date: 5/20/2002 9:08:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15070    ~Persephone, I have always been an advicate of the Death Penalty. I come from a law-enforcement family, and as we always said " No One Escapes From A Cemetary"<----that's a Cop-Joke. But, seriously, I am aware of the misconduct in Illinios, and the new DNA technology. However, I still believe the Death Penalty is called for. Why should I pay $30,000 a year for some scum-bucket to live out his life, with TV, 3 meals a day, weight room, library, ect, when they have denied someone else a quality of life. I cannot think of reason why we should NOT have a Death Penalty. ~ JMO~
Date: 5/20/2002 9:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    I have one question, what makes a person righteous enough to take anothers life and call it justice, and not have that persons blood on their own hands?
Date: 5/20/2002 9:15:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15070    I think if a person is paid by the state to inject the prisioner with drugs, or pull the switch, they are not guilty of murder. The murder is responsible for their OWN dath, since they choose to commit suicide by their own behavior.
Date: 5/20/2002 9:15:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15070    I mean "death"
Date: 5/20/2002 9:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    Suicide is taking your own life, by your own hand. So if the state pays a man to kill a person in their home it is ok, or does the location make a difference?
Date: 5/20/2002 9:32:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15070    suicide is the taking of one's own life by their own hand, (or their own ACTIONS ie: suicide by police, encouraging an officer to shoot-and-kill-you), or refusing food & water, till death. Those are also a suicide. Prison is not their "home". It is where they are kept. So, I think they signed their own death warrant, with their behavior. ~JMO~
Date: 5/20/2002 9:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    Only if the laws in that area say so, so that is subjective based on location.
Date: 5/20/2002 9:39:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15070    very true! But, see since I have lived my whiole life in two states with the Death Penalty, that is what I am familar with....and yes, this is a very subjective discussion, one of suicide. I personally believe, back to this debate, the death penalty is called for. I do not want to pay to keep this monster alive for the next 60-70 years.
Date: 5/20/2002 9:40:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15070    I have a great reverance for life...all life. But, whoever hit this boy so hard, WITH A SINGLE BLOW as to cause him to stop breathing, IMO, deserves death.
Date: 5/20/2002 9:41:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15070    It wll be more merciful than what the victim recieved
Date: 5/20/2002 9:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    What a person deserves and what we do as humans are two different things, that is what makes us human, and what seperates us from being savages.
Date: 5/20/2002 9:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    It takes a bigger person to not turn into the animal that the killer is.
Date: 5/20/2002 9:56:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15070    I guess your right.......*sigh* I have a daughter graduating from High School next week. She is the same age as the victim.....I also have a son, so I am seeing through those eyes....I wonder what the killer's Mother is thinking tonight?
Date: 5/20/2002 9:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 54307    The state is made up of imperfect human beings. It should not be granted the power to execute anyone. Al
Date: 5/20/2002 9:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    Also the source of the paycheck does not change the fact that a person is taking the life of another. And you said "But, see since I have lived my whiole life in two states with the Death Penalty, that is what I am familar with" moving beyond what we have learned is what advances our society, free thought, and the ability to make decisions on our own, we are not controled by our past. If we were you would have to concider the "killers" life, and the people that turned them into that would be the killers, because he could not move beyond it, and think for himself. So we have to choose, black and white death pennalties, or circumstances of a persons life.
Date: 5/20/2002 9:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    A1, maybe the world is coming to an end, once again we agreed.
Date: 5/20/2002 9:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    Exactly, everyone is SOMONES child.
Date: 5/20/2002 10:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    I made that post without seeing you sigh comment, sorry.
Date: 5/20/2002 10:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 13974    I understand, I am a parent too.
Date: 5/20/2002 10:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 3321    If this is based on money counts, then really the Death Penalty costs quite a bit more when you add up the $ it takes to try someone, Death Penalty cases have to be more thorough and convincing, they require more lawyers, the appeals process is taken more seriously, and then the many years of imprisonment until the actual execution, of course that is if they even get the death penalty, considering more cases that are tried with the intent of the death penalty are acquitted because of the severity of the Death Penalty.
Date: 5/20/2002 10:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 49742    That's horrible what happened to the innocent victim! 53659 stated it the way I feel about it! Angelfollower
Date: 5/21/2002 12:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 50435    I totally agree. Human Rights don't apply. These kids are getting away with murder. If it's proven and not just speculated, like with a bunch of witness that can testify, then by all means get rid of them. Maybe they regret it, but it doesn't bring their victim back. I don't even want to go on with this. It just boils me. Take care and great post...Gallytuck.
Date: 5/21/2002 9:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 54307    The fact is all convictions are suppossed to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. This does not stop wrongful convictions. Al
Date: 5/21/2002 10:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 13974    Gallytuck, will the exocution bring the victem back? No, then by your own argument, the exocution is void of any resolution. If their feelings of guilt while in prison don't matter because it wont bring the victem back, then their exocution doesn't matter either.
Date: 5/21/2002 12:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 4144    lady spirit guide you are my new best friend! my only comment is to agree with everything you just said!!
Date: 5/21/2002 2:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    Personally, I dont agree with nor disagree with the death penalty, and If I did, I wouldn't back down on what I belived just because a few was basically telling me I was wrong in what I was thinking, this is call conviction of ones beliefs sort of like I'm convicted on my beliefs of the Bible. But this isnt about the bible. Anyway, I think that IF a person/persons were to actually see the murder/s take place, IF THE evidence was soooooo much against this person, actually fact, actual witnesses, nothing here say, not just someone picking up a few of what they think are facts and then a jury convicts this person EVEN if someone DOESN"T see it, a jury convicts a person, then no I dont think death should be as there have been too many cases of people on death row that were innocent. THE FACTS, the WITNESS to me would have to pratically have to hold down the guy/girl that did the deed and hold them for the cops before I would say, sure give them the death penalty.
Date: 5/21/2002 10:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 26227    They should always do that. KIll 'em Make sure first that they are guilty then fry 'em Why spend tax dollars on people in prisons just get rid of them. YOU do the CRIME YOU pay the PRICE
