I recently told a story similar to this. However, there is a difference. You see a Lagahoo is a man, who is half human, half animal and he wears a chain on one foot that drags indicating his presence. It is said that if u turn to look at the Lagohoo he will poke u in the eye. Anyways, my story involves my cousins on my mom's side of the family. They live way down south of Trinidad in a little Village named Granville. Now Granville is not a well developed community, not many taxi's travel there, the furthest it got to was just at the beginning of the village street, where a cemetery was located....( this is true, believe me). So, back in the day, my cousins loved going to late movies, but they hated when they would have to walk past the cemetary to go home. Well, it so happened, one so called night, they had come home unusually later than regular, but being a bunch of them ,they thought it wouldn't be that bad. As they began walking, they heard the faint sound of chains dragging ( keep in mind that there are hardly street lights to luminate the road)...at first they thought it was their imaginations getting the better of them, but then it grew louder. Petrified, they began to run....the faster they ran the louder the chains became, it was as if the Lagahoo was ride on their tail. Upon reaching their house they bolted up the stairs and through the sliding door and as they did, they heard a crashing in the fig (banana) patch, right in front of their house. After that experience, the late night movies were on hold. They eventually began to attend the movies again, however, it would be early movies, when the sun was still out. How it changed my life:No change, i just didn't like going outside at night when i visited them. Especially near that fig patch.
