The shades are drawn
The lights are off
Sorrow fills the air
She breathes some in
Then cries the tears
And says she doesn't care

He calls her up
He asks what's wrong
She says that she is fine
But he's still persistent
On finding out
What's going through her mind

She tells him that she hates the world
She hates people
And she hates school
She tells him that she hates herself
And wishes she could be cool

He tells her that she's perfect
And she doesn't need to change
He tells her to relax
And quit driving herself insane

She tries and tries
It just doesn't work
She takes it all too seriously
He gets "disgusted"
But he tells her he loves her
And he tells her "you'll always have me"

She denies his words
And she believes nothing
As she breathes the sorrow in the air
So she closes the shades
And turns out the lights
And goes back to pretending not to care
