Hmmmm..How are they supposed to ID this woman if she is covering her face during the photo session?? Doesnt that defeat the purpose of photo IDs?? ANYONE could throw a veil over their face and say they are this person...IMO...xoxo |

When? Where? WHICH state allowed someone to be photographed wearing a veil?? I don't believe ANY state would allow ANYONE to be photographed with their FACE covered. I mean, WHAT would be the point of even having a picture taken?, (since it is the FACE that is the main focus on the license). |

This was posted once before,a couple of months ago..I thought this would be settled by now..I don't think she will get away with this..No one should be permitted to hide behind a religion or any other organization..If she doesn't like our laws, tell her to move to a country who allows her to do this..After the 911 attack,if she doesn't understand the why's and why nots of the situation, then I would think this is someone who does not have our best interest in mind and is wanting to see what she can get away with.. |

I agree with Rusure. It is taking religion way too far, when you cannot comply with the laws of the land. |

That is completely and Totally Rediculous, one of the main reasons for a photo on your drivers license is to IDENTIFY YOU anyone could put a veil over their face, and claim to be this person, and noone would know the difference because they dont know what this person really looks like. I think it should be Illeagal to have a drivers license with out a picture or with your face covered in anyway, if your religion says you cannot be photographed you shouldnt have a license. thats my opinion. |

Heck, the state religion of worshipping Science, and the glorification of ourselves is fast coming, and will overtake these stuffy old thoughts of Allah, and Jehovah. I read the EU has passed a law that could outlaw the Old Testament as hate literature. Religious freedom is seriously overrated anyway, isn't it? I mean, heck, why not just rip those veils off the women, and tell them that even though we ain't Talibanic ( they forced everyone to do what they said), they gotta follow our rules, and our rules say all Muslims are potential terrorists. What a bunch of hypocrites people in this "freedom loving" country have become. It makes me ill. Is there nothing sacred anymore??? Nothing personal to the author of this post, but this is ridiculous. We all claim we want freedom, but darn it, as soon as something bad happens, we're ready to turn on each other like a pack of wild dogs. Give the woman her dignity - haven't Muslim women been driving in the US before now? What's the difference? With the hoopla about Bush and Co. knowing about this attack, I'm not even sure that the people they are targeting as the enemy, are even the enemy at all. After all, if they are going to lie about anything, why not lie about everything? Did it ever occur to you that this could be a way of dividing our nation and our people into subsections of racial and religious divisions, and cause us to destroy each other? Then the real enemy doesn't have to do a darn thing but watch us. WAKE UP PEOPLE!! Preserve freedom FOR ALL!! Don't give it up to be secure - cause they don't care about your security - that was proven 9/11. They are already saying that an attack is imminent, it's a matter of when - so what the heck are we paying them for? To tell us something, that most of us can figure out? |

Religion should have no impact on a drivers license photo, which is used for IDENTIFICATION, in which case a veil would impair the IDENTIFICATION because it is covering the face...and therefore you would not be able to IDENTIFY the person. I could care less what your religion is when it comes to the drivers licenset-its sole purpose is for ID-there is no excuse to obstruct it. |

The woman should not be able to get her ID card with the veil covering her face. I can see it now, she gets pulled over and the police have no idea if she is indeed the woman in the picture. That is crazy and I am sorry but I hold strong to the belief that if you come to America or any other country you have to abide by the laws of that country. Religion should not be a factor. |

Driving is a priviledge, not a right in this country Free Girl. And if she was in her country of origin, she would not probably be allowed to drive anyway. If I went to a muslim country, I would be expected to have my arms and legs covered as that is their belief. I would abide by the rules where ever I was. Even our female soldiers stationed over there must not leave the base unless accompanied by a male. That is pretty common knowledge. |

I feel it's wrong NOT to remove the veil. The PRIVILAGE of driving has requirements and obtaining a valid driver's licence for the purpose of identification is one of them. If you refuse to provide the required photograph for the ID, you can't drive...simple as that. Next she'll want a passport after gaining citizenship...with the veil on...to be sure. Sorry, no can do. I'm growing very tired of people who are very aware that they're not in conformation with a certain groups criteria trying to get in to that certain group. For example, and this is kinda funny, but I had to think of something fast...lol, if I were to start a Bacon Appreciation Club then just by default it would be safe to assume that faithful Muslims and Jews would not be attending any activities. Nor would they want to. But someone out there would want to turn it into a big thing saying that I deliberately made that club just to exclude Jews and Muslims and that I'm some sort of bigot...blah, blah, blah. Hello? Maybe I love bacon? Is it my fault they can't eat it? Nope, certainly not. And I'm not gonna push it on them. Do you see what I mean? I'm not allowed to join the Legion. I'm not a vet. Makes sense. Why would I have any interest in joining when I can't relate to any of the members or their experiences that qualify them into membership? Or maybe I could petition for a position of authority into the Muslim faith. Can't do it? Why not? I want it. So what if I don't believe? They're discriminating against me because I'm not Muslim. Or I want to marry this wonderful Muslim woman I met at work. We hit it off. But she can't introduce me to her family. I want to marry her. I can't. Why not? I'm not Muslim. Hey, they're discriminating against me because I'm not Muslim...I'm gonna sue!!! See how ridiculous it sounds from the other end?...*winks*...Gallytuck. |
