Nearby, a piercing wave crashed down on jagged rocks, erupting in a shrill scream. The wind whistled an eerie song of victory. Possesing the river to move rapidly through waves once again, it raced down, looking for a new victim. It was a tempest now, wildly roaring. The damp scent of the accompanying rain violated the air, and the wind carried on, reunited with its wet partner. The rainfall slowed to a drizzle, rebelling against the aggressiveness of the wind. As if questioning the slackening of the rain, the wind delayed. Without an answer, the rain dissipated, abandoning the wind, to eventually come to a near standstill. The river calmed, returning to its usual course of flow. Through the vicious, decreasing clouds, a pale sunbeam penetrated down on the roric earth, slowly scorching, draining it of it's moisture.
