Well, considering that they were complaining about the fact that people were too, erm, "Fluffy" I think peeps may have been offended by it. Some of us are truly happy, loving, friendly, outgoing, "FLUFFY" people. So in a way, maybe the Admins felt that too many people here would have taken offence at this. Just My Opinion! well, i take offense to when people say things about suicide and get away with it, but do those stories get deleted? no, of course not, but anything that would disrupt the "aura" of the perfect usm has to quickly be deleted so as not to cause an uproar! if they don't like it, don't read it, it's that simple. |

Well, freedom of speech is fine, but when you insult others that is where you should expect a post to get deleted. Insulting people because they do one thing is just showing that you do not approve. Fine don't approve, but maybe that is something YOU need to deal with. If you don't like how they have thier "FLUFF" well guess what no one makes you stay focused on it. If you think they do it to irratate you, well guess what again, they do it because they want to. Yes you can express your opinions within the guidelines, and the post that you are talking about was NOT within the guidelines at all, as it was insulting others. You can ignore the ending to comments, but focusing on how people use hugs and all, that just proves you want something to bicker about. I don't use those endings or anything of the sort, but i will not sit and attack the people that do. This site is for EVERYONE!!! And as for saying some of of us abuse our powers, well maybe some of you would care to look at the actions that caused deletions of posts, or what the content of the posts were actually. Ali, that post of his was RUDE. Would like you to be called an airhead. I highly doubt it. And this site is g-rated as for certain content, if you do remember Admin was looking into a different rating also. Maybe you all rather have people be negative and not have a positive thing to say, I know one person a few days ago that was sent off the site for being extremely rude and then tried to to get someone else knocked off by stating a lie...Maybe you all should look at YOUR own actions before judging the actions of others. |

Miss C, How could people be offended? If I were to go to the mall I would be surrounded by strangers. If people (strangers) said "excuse me" and hugged you before they passed wouldn't you wonder why they did that? I do think many people who come here are happy, but I do believe a good number of people come here because they are not happy and use fluff for attention maybe because they are lonely. Fluff may draw attention, but an honest opinion with no sugar coating definitely would have more of an impact. There are many young members here. We should influence individuality. I'm sure they have enough follow the leader at school. |

Fire ANgel, I didn't think it was fair either, hence this post. I know a few people who are the type who must stand right in front of your face to speak and touch your arm while they are talking. I always back away and try to cut the conversation short. Also, a few people who feel the need to hug everyone when they leave. But these people are usually intoxicated. I wonder what the real story is here? Maybe once the Admins of USM finish their new website myhugs.com the touchy feely people will feel more comfortable there. Then maybe USM will start to be like it used to be a few years ago. Now, I'm not saying the touchy feely people should leave. Just maybe the Admins understand the irritation associated with fluff and decided to create a website for it. Just a thought...LOL! Probably not the case, but oh well. |

Also, any post where a snotty comment ends with "hugs" so they can dodge a warning from an admin by saying it was in jest, and use the *hug* as their defense. Shall I go on? If the deleted post in question was not in the guidelines then why is my post still up? My post has the same opinion and takes the same tone as the deleted post. Some admins do abuse powers. My husband was kicked out of chat the other night while I sat beside him. He did not say anything that was bad. He kept receiving warnings then was unable to logon, neither was I. He sent an email to Admin and was back on the next day. I would like to say some admins don't abuse power but this one boasted about kicking him off and eliminating lower numbered authors. Also, the deleted authors opinion of what an airhead is might be differnt than your opinion of an airhead. Although I think the term "airhead" is G rated. If airhead was the most offensive thing in that post, then why wasn't the word "airhead" just deleted??? We're not judging here, we just don't understand why strangers are giving out hugs... |

Miss C, I am all for getting rid of posts dissing the site. However, dissing the fact that people make them feel unaccepted because they do not *hug* is really a differnt case. The person feels that their comments are unacceptable if they do not leave a *hug*. I never read that in the faq's. I don't like whiny I'm leaving posts either, but lets face it. This website is very touchy feely in certain areas. Some people like truth and honesty. Just because we're on the net does not mean we have to be fake.
