Please be forewarned, this is not a dig or a rip on Dizzy's post...it was just inspired her post and a bit by ReleaseMe and what she has said today about positivity. We must always remember with anything, with life in general, that there is good AND bad, and that is what makes it all so worthwhile, right? So here goes: After being here for one year, I have come to realize some things about USM myself,
1.) You don't have to always agree with everyone else. There are a vast variety of different people here, with different opinions and styles and I have noticed MANY people who speak their minds, who march to the beat of their own drummer and are real about it...and all I can say to that is "YAY"!
2.) YOU should ALWAYS post things that question. And many, many do...this is what makes the debate section lively and discussions worth coming back to! Thanks for all the talks about important issues, and those meaningless discussions about nothing..they are ALL good for the heart soul and mind!!:)
3.) You must always sympathize with people in need. And people DO!! When I had my accident, I don't know how many people came forward to send me "good vibes", people that didn't know me from Adam..and people congratlated me on my award...just BECAUSE!!! How nice is that? I am not popular, and as far as sympathy goes...who needs LOTS of comments? Really, when you are in need, all it takes is ONE...one person that cares, and I always find more than that at USM. Truthfully.
4.) If you use CAPITAL LETTERS and are PASSIONATE about something! BRAVO!!!!!!!! I have never been admonished for this...and heck...life doesn't hap[pen without a little yelling, so go on! This is a community and it has always reacted as so...so keep going on with your bad selves people!:)
5.) People meet by replying to stories, and vice versa...is there a better way to meet people? Thank goodness this is true, I met my boyfriend this way (hehe and I am a very lucky girl)
6.)Suggestions are great...I think Ginger and Radman appreciate them. I have always been thanked for the ones that I put forward. AND, I think many people have been recognized for doing so, and good ones have been made (ie: The Coffee House, Complaint Department, Counters on stories) Come on! People here aren't as critical as some like to portray...
7.) Say whatever you want in profile messages...who care who reads them? Should we really be saying anything that bad in porfile anyway? ADMINS...feel free to read mine, and anyone else for that matter! I want to say that I love the profile messenger, by the way...what a great feature...hey, if we wanna get risque...we can always do it on an IM...away from USM, and people that could get hurt or embarrased by what we say.
8.) People do change, and some remain the same..I have noticed, at USM most always either result brings about the positive....I have never seen someone here change for the worse..most of those people, well just go away. But I have seen people find their voice, and themselves and love and acceptance, here, and what a great thing to see!
9.) Some people are argumentitive and thank goodness they are...this place is a perfect mixture. If we were all "silent bobs" or lemmings, this place wouldn't be the place that it is...and to that..once again, I say YAY!
10.) Be careful what you say , but more importantly EXPLAIN yourself and be understood...and most people do, it makes for the best discussions and most often times is the reason why people become angry. When this happens, I always see truces and forgiveness.
11.) Admins have a hard job...some overstep their bounds, but I would rather that than have this place be a free for all...
12.) There are some mebers that are "elite" here at USM, but it is because they have been here and befriended many...it is because they lend wonderful thought and insight to the people and community of USM. This does not and should not make me, or anyone else upset...I am THANKFUL for these people...respect is earned, that is a proven fact. Thank you for those out there that are lively, and helpful to all!
13.) No matter what, and I have tried to be, I am still not a ((HUGS> person...lol...but hey..real or fake...I sure am glad to see them passed around freely...maybe that is a little bit of what seems to be wrong with the world. There can never be to many hugs!

14.) Before I came here, I never realized how MUCH I HATE the word: POPULAR!!!! I still think that word is overused here, this is not a popularity contest nor should it be accused of being one. People REAP what they SEW...:It never hurts and it is never BAD to be friendly, helpful and vivacious):):) If this is what POPULAR is (and that's what I think) please keep it up:)
This isn't an attempt to kiss boo-tay!!!! This is just looking at the positives of this site...there are many more... This is MY attempt to ACCENTUATE the POSITIVE!:) (so what if I am shouting! lol:>
